Im still very optimistic about this player but I don't think anyone here wasn't concerned about his ability to stay healthy.

I believe in the talent. I doubt he can stay healthy but I doubted that Murray could stay healthy as well.

My stance is that if he's not available, he doesn't deserve to be here. He might still run fast, but if this contending team can't count on him being here, he shouldn't be. There are too many question marks at running back already without adding another one.

Thus far, McFadden can't stay healthy running against air.

Chris Johnson can't avoid gettting shot in the offseason.

I think it was the dismissive term "scrap heap" used in reference to the idea of bringing him in. If Johnson is "scrap heap", McFadden is a curse word. Johnson's career and accomplishments utter embarrasses McFadden's.

Yeah, and they said the same thing when he missed most of the OTA stuff too. If they're not thinking about options, they should be.

What else do you want me to call a rb about to turn 30 who doesn't have a job going into training camp? That's almost the literal definition of scrap heap.

Some veterans try their best to prolong their training camp requirements with ridiculous excuses and I would just assume that this is one of those instances in regards to McFadden since its only a week.

If this was going into week 1 I would be concern but at the beginning of TC, Not worried at the moment.

Truthfully, I'd rather go the Steven Jackson route over Chris Johnson.

At the end of the preseason, though.

These things are never "serious" until they happen again and again and again.

I agree completely. He's another injury ready to happen. He is not that special so cut him loose and get someone in here that isn't made of glass.

I feel sorry for the guy. He was good at one time. But this team needs better than what he can offer.

How about what he is? Better than the guy this team signed. In every way.

Just because the Cowboys signed McFadden doesn't suddenly make him something he's not.

Chris Johnson is a 30 year old running back sitting on the couch that nobody has picked up. If our running game is in such a dire situation how would picking him up help us at all? Obviously nobody else wants him, but since you're not satisfied with mcfadden picking up Cj is the next best option to you? That makes no sense

He's had a better career. Is he better today? The Cowboys don't think so. Take it up with the football guys.

And 'Damaged Goods' McFadden would be in the exact same place if Dallas hadn't signed him. Before the Cowboys, there was zero talk of anyone having any interest in him. Just because the Cowboys signed him doesn't make him suddenly 'good' and it certainly doesn;t erase the fact that Chris Johnson's numbers over the same period kill McFadden's!

If our running game is in such a dire situation how would picking him up help us at all?

Maybe because he's proven to be better in each and every way? We can put up both players' numbers if you'd like to get embarrassed further?

Obviously nobody else wants him, but since you're not satisfied with mcfadden picking up Cj is the next best option to you? That makes no sense

It makes sense to anyone without blinders on. Johnson is actually capable of running today! What a novel concept!

Can't help the club in the tub!

We all couldn't wait until TC was here...now this....now I can't wait until a week or so passes by....LOL
If DMC not back then. That's when it's time to bring in Johnson and / or Jackson.

But I would not be opposed to a trade, even when / if DMC returns.

I am still pulling for DMC as we all are, or hope we all are. But if the team can be improved, then go get who may be available too.

I'm sure it's nothing serious but it's something that will reoccur and nag him throughout the season. He'll be lucky if he plays 3-4 games at 100%.

You are probably right, the Cowboys have too many "what-ifs" at RB.

You're going off old Chris Johnson numbers. If that's the case I can pick old 2011 mcfadden numbers. Cj hasn't gone over 4 ypc in 2 years. So he's also been on the decline. So again what sense would it make to replace a "suck" mcfadden according to you with a "suck" Chris Johnson?

I'm going off of the only numbers that matter! What both players have and have not done in the league. I know it's an inconvenient truth for you.

Under 4 yards eh? Would those "under 4 yards" still be significantly better than McFadden's? You can look at the numbers through any lens you'd like. Johnson's are better in every way.

And even if you threw out each and every one, Johnson still wins based on reliability alone!
