This is one of the worst articles ever written. PFW is awful. There's no chance McFadden drops out of the top 10 after running a 4.27, let alone drop out of the top 20.

I'm not buying McFadden dropping to 22 any more than I am buying beach front property here in Kansas.

This may be the reason

According to the Great Blue North Draft Report:

Hog back fast; maybe too fast… Arkansas RB Darren McFadden created perhaps the biggest buzz at the scouting combine in Indianapolis yesterday when the former Razorback was clocked in 4.33for the 40. In fact, some teams had the 210-pound McFadden, who is one of the top 5-6 rated players for the 2008 draft, in a blazing 4.27 seconds. on Sunday. However, while there is no doubting McFadden’s physical skills the red flags about his off-field travails also continue to grow. Indeed, in addition to the fact that McFadden has been involved in a couple of bar fights, he is now also battling a paternity suit and told at least team during an interview over the weekend that he actually has two children on the way.

Exactly! No one can say what will happen to McFadden on draft day with any certainty because no one actually knows what the character issues are and what, if anything else, will turn up.

If he was an A+ character guy you might be able to say he won't fall, but with his off the field issues, teams will think long and hard about paying him Top 10 $$, especially with the NFL's crack down on off the field issues.

More from Pro Football Talk

McFADDEN VOWS TO CHANGE

With questions and concerns swirling regarding some of the off-field issues involving Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, we're hearing that McFadden has been addressing the situation head-on, and that he has vowed to change.

As we hear it, McFadden recognizes that he put himself into a couple of bad positions while in college, and he claims that he will avoid those kinds of circumstances in the future. Regarding concerns that some of his associates will follow him to the NFL (a la guys like Ray Lewis and Michael Vick), we're told that McFadden is telling teams that his gym bag is the only "baggage" he'll be bringing to the NFL.

There also are rumors among NFL scouts that McFadden already has four children via four different mothers. A source with knowledge of the situation(s) contends that two of the paternity claims have been proven to be inaccurate. In any event, the source says that McFadden is committed to doing the right thing in any situation where it is established that he has fathered a child.

From our perspective, we aren't troubled by the notion of a guy having one or more kids out of wedlock, as long as he's providing for them financially and making an effort to participate in the rearing of the children. Though we like to poke fun at guys like Tom Brady and Travis Henry for that kind of stuff, it's a far better pastime than fighting dogs or shooting up strip clubs.

The premise of him falling out of the top ten, and the idea that there are 3rbs better than him makes me giggle like a school girl.

So, this must be where the unrealistic dreamers' room is.....cool. I think we can get DMAC w/the #22 pick, and Dorsey w/the #28 pick. Then, we can grab Aqib Alib w/the #61 spot. We shouldn't have any trouble getting Limas Sweed at #92, even though he ran something like a 4.45 40 at the Combine.....haha.
Wow, this IS fun.

Seriously, though, here's hoping that sanity will reign on April 26, (my b/day, by the way---what a way to celebrate your birthday, 'eh?) As some of the tests showed at the Combine this week, there are plenty of excellent RBs to go around in this draft. I was leaning toward Jamaal Charles after watching his highlights from his career in the Texas site. The kid is not only fast, but quick twitched & shifty. He ran for a lot of yards & TDs while a Longhorn.

But, you just can't ignore what Chris Johnson has done. He led the nation in all-purpose yards last year, and that's just what we need from a complementary back. Then, when he blew everyone away at the Combine w/a legitimate 4.24 40, that sealed it for me. Of course, I think it helped catapult him from a late 2nd-early 3rd, to a late 1st. I would have no problem taking either Limas Sweed or Aqib Talib w/the #22nd & Johnson w/the #28. If we don't get a WR in the 1st, then there's always going to be an Andre Caldwell type we can grab in the 2nd. He ran a 4.37 at the Combine, & is the all-time receiving leader in Florida history. He also looked very good during Senior Bowl week. Can you imagine having a RB who runs a 4.24 & a WR running a 4.37? Speed kills.

If JJ trades up for anything, he should trade up for a NT. Fergy isn't getting any younger, and there is really no legitimate NT behind him. Remember, the NT is the foundation of the 3-4, and Sedrick Ellis would work perfectly in a Phillips attack mode defense.

JMHO......in the dream room, that is.

Yeah.... no matter what anyone says.... those fans want to be satisfied with a redemption pick (passin on Bush).

It would be a good move on their part.

Are you serious?

After the 2006 season the Texans looked kinda dumb for passing on Bush and V. Young to select Mario Williams. A year later and they now look like they knew what the **** they were doin'. Wow. What a difference a year makes.

The Texans don't owe nothin' to nobody. They made a solid pick with the Williams selection.

AD was supposed to fall last year too with those injury concerns. Don't count on it happening this year either.

McFadden falling to #22 is the most ******** thing I have ever heard. That 4.27 made him a Top 10 lock.
