Oh, and he was just getting started...

http://voices.suntimes.com/sports/i...-a-winner-calls-him-tony-romo-of-the-midwest/

During a stream-of-consciousness rant of sorts, McNabb compared Cutler to Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and said there are no excuses for having one playoff win after nine NFL seasons.

“He’s the Tony Romo of the Midwest,” McNabb said. “We can talk about arm talent, we can talk about being able to throw a ball through a wall. He can put up 280, 340 yards passing, but you look across the board he’s got two interceptions in a game that cost them 14 points or so. That hurts a football team.

“Can he play in this league? Absolutely, he’s proven that. But a quarterback is measured by your body of work, meaning your wins and losses record, the numbers you put up. And the end-all be-all is how many playoff wins do you have? How many playoff appearances do you have? If you only have one to show for almost a decade of play that means you can’t lead your team to the playoffs.

“Then the question is why? Because you’re so talented, the potential is there, but why haven’t you been able to do it? You can only say for so long that it’s been the talent. They have some talent around Cutler, that’s never been the issue. Now can you put it all together? To be honest, the answer is no.”

McNabb had compared Cutler to Romo earlier in the interview, as well, calling them both an “accident waiting to happen.”

“If you continue to let them drop back and throw the football, they’re gonna turn the football over,” McNabb said.

Actually McNabb the be all end all is Superbowl victories.

It's not surprising he left that out so that he can pretend that he was actually some really good QB.

Yes, Romo, Cutler and Rivers all have had similar careers. Solid regular season resumes and not much playoff success.....

But Romo and Cutler are nothing alike and I don't know why people keep associating Romo with interceptions. Its been a consistent trend this year for some reason I guess after the 49ers game but he ONLY had 10 INT's last year. And there were a few multiple INT games in there as well. Not sure why people keep associating him like he's Rex Grossman.

What's completely messed up is that Eli Manning consistently gets an annual pass for his INT's, which seem to come in bunches. I mean it's dang near historic what he's doing in the INT dept.

He might get mentioned in passing, but never strung up and beaten down by the media.

Pathetic!

when you're only throwing the ball 2 and 3 thousand yards...interceptions will be skewed lower....his coaches didnt let him step back and throw a lot to limit his stupidity.

Much like the Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smiths of the world, I have to question anyone who cares or bothers to pay attention to what they think or what they have to say.

That's the first question anyone should be asking themselves.

Well, it's not like McNabb's opinion is ever wrong....

If Romo is a choker, then McNabb took choking to a whole new level. I mean, McNabb choked consistently when the lights were the brightest during the playoffs, and Super Bowl.

Barfin on the field hurts your team as well, I would think. BTW from the stats I see, he had 4 years with less than 100 QB rating. Romo has zero. I would say Tony has helped his team plenty.

You know the best part about it one of Romo's few playoff wins came against his Eagles team in 2009 in which Romo waxed his $$$ not once, not twice, but three times that year all someone has to do is bring that up and that would crush his whole anti-Romo argument.

Saw Mcnabb at the Kings game on Tuesday but a buddy of mine made me second guess myself. Turns out his nephew plays for the Oilers and he was there watching his first game. Really disappointed I didn't have the chance to tell him he's the most overrated qb of all time and to stop hating on the boys!

Ironic, when comparing their career stats. McNabb has more picks.

He's also never thrown over 4000 yds like Romo has several times.
He's only thrown 30+ TD's once. Romo's done it several times.

Romo should pass McNabb in career TD's this year, his 9th as a starter 4 seasons less than McNabb's 13.

To take it a step further, if Romo plays as long as McNabb did, averaging say 25-30 TDs, he will retire with at least 100 more TD's than McNabb. And McNabb is on record saying he considers himself a HOF QB.
