I like this move...Wade said they are going to move him there. My guess is they want to get there top 5 olineman on the field and it makes sense to move Pat to compete at LG with Kosier.

I say McQuistan beats out Kosier in TC this year to start game 1 at LG...

Why on earth would you think he could beat out Kosier?

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but if not my thoughts...

Last year I went to the Seattle pre-season game and there I specifically watched Romo and McQuistan to see if they were as good as people were talking. I obviously had very high hopes for Romo after leaving, but I also was very impressed with what McQuistan was able to do and realized how atheltic he really was. I think he is more athletic then Kosier...he is bigger...and he is around 325-330 range. He has very good quickness at that size, so I think he can beat out Kosier. JMO

Clearly a guy changing positions will beat out Kosier. After all, he's no Larry Allen

Its not like left tackle is McQuinstan's "natural" position, but rather if he has the athletic ability to play it why not give it a shot. He played left guard his entire career in college.

Apprently you guys take this is a joke...no problem.

I'm making my opinion off of watching him play in person and being impressed with what he is capable of doing. Many make brash statements based of of he said and she said, or BP said...In person I thought he was the real deal.

Have fun though...

The guy is so good that he almost went undrafted. There were like 50 OL taken in front of him.

He comes here and BP says a couple nice things about him, and people have been calling for him to start ever since. Now he is going to beat out the guy we just gave a boatload of money to last season... a guy who did a good job last year. No, lets give that job to a 7th round draft pick who we haven't seen play in his 2nd year who is switching positions.

I could live with that. There's going to be some interesting training camp battles and I say let the best man win between Kosier and McQuistan

Assuming our young OL we just drafted come along...what would be the OL in 2008?

Free
McQuistan
Gurode
Davis
Marten

our offensive line literally changes every year lol...i think we could keep this lineup for many years to come assuming Free and Marten come along well

Maybe McQ starts in 08, but I just can't see it this year barring injury.

As opposed to the sterling pedigree of Kyle Kosier, who went with the 249th pick in the 7th round and played on 3 different teams in 3 years. A guy who the 49ers and Lions decided they wouldn't keep around, becaues Lord knows they're both so stacked on OL.

You're right ... no way McQuinstan could beat out this phenomenal specimen.

The Cowboys didn't give away a "boatload" of money to him. They gave him a $5 million dollar signing bonus, which is almost back up money for an UDFA offensive lineman these days. Its about a third of what Steinbach, Davis and Dockery got.

No way McQ beats Kosier in TC but it could happen later in the year if Kosier isn't playing well. He was one of the few bright spots on the oline last year. Kosier has been playing LG a lot longer than McQ has so that gives him the advantage.
