I agree with you, its almost a win-win situation for the Packers.

If they play at home, they have the Lambeau mystique and 80000 screaming fans on their side. If they play in Dallas, they won't have to deal with the wind and/or snow.

The spin isn't necessarily wrong, just stupid.
If they play in Dallas, they won't have to deal with the wind and/or snow (well, maybe snow), but they WILL have to deal with THE COWBOYS. This fact makes the spin even more stupid.

lol who's saying that? Before the games on Sunday, the entire gameday segment except maybe Ditka had Green Bay playing TAMPA in the NFC Championship game.

Whenever anyone says something about playing at dallas for the NFC Championship game. Which is a lot.

Because of the pack loss, they are talking about the matchup in dallas.

the media (esp ESPN) would love to see Brett Favre in the SB. theyre saying how going on the road to Dallas will actually help the packers chances because their passing game is better suited for ideal conditions. Merrill Hoge said so on NFL Live.

No one kisses Brett's butt more than ESPN.

go cowboys!

Even though we beat them already in Dallas, I seriously doubt that the packers care where they have to go in the playoffs.

I'm not a homer, and I don't like our chances against a Favre led team in the playoffs no matter where the game is played......

How many times have we lost to a Favre led team in the playoffs? Get back to me when you get that answer.

Or the fact that Favre has played pretty bad in Texas Stadium each time, including his last performance.

YAKUZA

Exactly. Every one of those NINE tries...that resulted in ZERO wins.

Yeah that big goose egg is quite a cause for concern.

Hopefully we break the curse this year.

Two things that don't make sense:

First, it's not like the Pack won't have a home playoff game. They will play at Lambeau in the divisional round. Their loss did not "save" them from having to play a cold weather game at all. Not gonna be any colder the second week of January than it is the first week, is it?

Second, what if we lose our first playoff game, and they "have to" play the championship game in Green Bay anyway? You won't hear anybody saying that Cowboy loss hurts the Packers.

It makes about as much sense as Tom Jackson saying GB's special teams cost them the Bears game. Wha???

The "frozen tundra". Lambeau Field. Vince Lombardi. "Brett Favereveereverrrevvereevrrereeorreorer and HIS Green Bay Packuh's".

Nothing would please the NFL, Al Micheals, Boomer et. al. more than to have "Brett Farverevereverrererrerrrereor and "his" Green Bay Packuh's. win the SB.

I read a headline Monday saying "Packers hand Dallas home field advantage". Yeah right. Green Bay "handed" it to Dallas. As if Dallas "backed into" it. Not like they beat "Brett Favor, Fart, Fevree, (whatever)" head to head.

The spin is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Nothing would please me more to the pulverize Brett Ferferververerefererfveree and "His" Green Bay Packuh's in the NFC Champ. game....................

Why is it that Marino and Favor, er Fart, er Favree (whatever) have the gaudious numbers, and only one fluke Ring between them? Because if you could just remain upright at the QB position, you're going to accumulate meaningless stats. Just ask Fran Tarkington and Jim Kelly. But that won't stop Favroeoroereerooreevverorer from going down in legendary lore of not only Packuh history, but every spin doctor's NFL "greatest ever" list.
When he finally packs it in (thankfully), all we'll hear about is the "greatest Packer ever." Meantime, Phil Simms, Bob Griese, and Jim Plunkett have ONE (1) more SB ring than Brett Fart, er Favor, er Fever, er Faverorereverer (whatever). And, he has EXACTLY the same amount of rings as Trent Dilpher, Mark Rypien, that fool with the Bears in '85, and Doug Williams.

History and stats mean nothing this year.

Who would have thought that Brett Favre would be having one of his best years after the way he played the last 4 years?

That's pretty typical how you didn't answer the question and you know what, I expected it. I will ask again, how many times have we lost to a Favre led team in the playoffs. Answer that for me please. Anything that you have to say other than the answer to that question is irrelevant.

Never - but then again we pretty much owned the skins through the 2004 season until their fortunes changed as of late.

Again stats mean nothing - and I'm sure Favre is fully aware of the demons that must be excercised if we end up playing the packers again.

You don't say. Kind of makes your point about our chances not looking good against Farve led teams in the playoffs irrelevant doesn't it. Can't wait for your next gem....Really...I can't.

The year that Favroroervere finally won a Super Bowl, the final four were Carolina, Jacksonsville, a bad Patriot team (nothing resembling THIS Patriot run), and the *****-Packuhs.
It was a terrible year for football. the Panthers and Jags were in like their first years in the league as new franchise's. Unprecedented in how early new teams made it that far.
Dallas lost @ Carolina in the divisional round due ENTIRELY to a false accusation that surfaced the Tuesday before the game...........a bold-faced lie about Micheal Irvin and another couple Cowboys and some kind of rape or something. The accuser was found to be full of **** and 100% fabricating a lie, but the damage was done. Dallas was TOTALLY distracted going into Carolina for the game. THAT Dallas LOSS opened the door for "Brett Fart and HIS Green Bay Packuh's" to FINALLY make it to the Super Bowl. With NO DALLAS in the way, they finally had a shot.
Subsequently, the "Favor-led" Packuhs, who could NEVER GET OVER THE COWBOY HUMP in the playoffs, finally made it to the SB and played against a ****ty Patriot team led by Tony Eason, or somebody akin to him.
The next year, "Brett Faverereorerorere and HIS Green Bay Packuh's" got sent back to reality by losing the SB to the Elway-led Broncos. Also, it was the first NFC loss in a SB in like 13 or 14 years.

THAT, my friend, is Brett Favor's legacy. Of all his stats, the one you'll NEVER HEAR ABOUT is how "Brett Ferfvereveoroferore and HIS Green Bay Packuh's" couldn't get over the "Cowboy HUMP". To this day, he still can't beat Dallas. Another thing...........if Tony Romo put up a stinker like Fervere did against the Bears last week, there's be a one-hour special on ESPN about how Romo is a fluke. Also, if the ENTIRE Dallas TEAM got the spanking that "Brett Fart and HIS Green Bay Packuh's" got in Chicago last on Sunday, it would be front page until next weekend. The Packuh's got ABSOLUTELY TATTOOED in Chicago. It was embarrassing for a team in THAT position, playing for home field, to get so leathered. For all of Dallas minor blips this season, NOTHING, I mean NOTHING came close to that putrid display against a ****ty team.

I could see Tampa or the Giants knocking off GB in the NFCDG. Tampa's Cover 2 has the personnel to give the Packers' O fits(you saw the Skins game earlier, with a healthy Rogers and Taylor, they shut down their O), and the Packers can't stop the run well, which play to the Giants' strengths.
