Emmitt had elite vision and elite durability. Murray has neither.

Jerry did not think so then. Emmitt was undervalued THEN. Same as Jerry is NOW undervaluing the Offensive Player of the year, 2x pro bowler, record holder for consecutive 100 yard games, league leading rusher for 2014 and who averages nearly 5 ypc for his career (that's more than half a yard more than Emmitt).

so because the nfl leading rusher was forced to hold out 20 years ago, that means something today?

cookoo. cookoo.

Those who do not learn their lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.

You know, Murray is a known quantity, a complete back, occasionally fumble prone, a great blocker in pass protection. With him on the offense, our team was good, our defense, filled with journeyman was fresh enough to look good.

Why roll the dice on another running back? The established runner we have is of excellent quality... and we have the chance to hold on for Romo's last couple of years. Keep things the way they are on offense, everything's clicking there. Why mess with it? Is saving cap space really worth it? I heard we have to spend 40 million this offseason. Keeping Murray is well worth the cost.

We did learn our lesson. We don't overpay for marginal running backs.

good bye

Wrong lesson Boyer. MB3 was not even a full time RB for the Cowboys before he got paid. Murray, like Emmitt, is the workhorse on the best rushing attack in the league.

he went late in the draft because he isn't special. He did nothing here to change that opinion. We got a great value out of the 4th round pick, but signing a blockbuster trade to a marginal talent just to keep fans complacent would indicate the gm has not learned a darn thing

I want murray back also but I do not want the cowboys to overpay for him. lets just see what the other teams are offering murray and if the cowboys can come close maybe murray comes back. so far there is only talk so far and no real contract numbers yet.

I don't mind letting 29 walk if that means signing other guys.

Does not seem to be happening though

Only to the spin doctors who'll do all they can to downplay Murray's accomplishments and importance to the team so they can rationalize letting him walk away for nothing.

depending on what we do in free agency, it may not be for nothing. We could get back a higher comp pick then we used on him.
