Mega "Where's Murray going?" Thread *Merge*

depending on what we do in free agency, it may not be for nothing. We could get back a higher comp pick then we used on him.

Who freaking cares about a comp pick? I want a Super Bowl and the team with Murray got damn close. Losing him would be a downgrade plain and simple and unless the team uses the money on a difference maker on the defensive line then letting him walk would be for nothing.

I care about comp picks. We won't sniff a superbowl signing Murray to a massive contract.

He had his shot this year. If he learned how not to carry the ball, we might of sniffed the superbowl last year.

Funny w all these reports about MURRAY w raiders and jags meeting for dinner or talking but he's in Dallas at the mavs game. Per Mike fisher lol

Fish is great but he is in annoying range right now. Instead of reporting he is calling everyone out regarding him being at the game. If Murray leaves i will be egg on face. He must have good sources.

Interesting quote from Garrett:
"I don't like that expression, 'plug another back in there,'" Garrett said, outlining Murray's importance to the Cowboys' offense and the heavy workload shouldered by the Offensive Player of the Year.
While running backs have been devalued over the past half-decade, Garrett stressed that their game-day importance has not been diminished.
"You'll find if you look at it, running backs are important to championship teams," Garrett explained. "The runner does matter."

Well it looks like the Raiders just signed Roy Helu, so it would seem that would decrease the likelihood that they shell out the kind of cash Demarco Murray is seeking. Their Murray (Latavius) + Helu = a pretty solid backfield.

@caplannfl: I'm told the #Raiders are still interested in DeMarco Murray despite Helu deal.

I think Chippy Eagle is in the game just to put pressure on the other teams to drive the price up and get Murray out of Dallas......

Yeah, no way they ink DM now IMO. He's going to end up in Philly if the money is right. Jax has the money but they suck so.....get ready for a huge meltdown from our fan base. He'll be pretty good in that offense. Contrary to popular belief, Kelly wants a north/south guy. That's why he tried to sign Gore. That system is predicated on getting UPFIELD, not dancing sideline to sideline. McCoy was less and less productive as last year wore on. He was very overrated IMO. So, that's my two cents. Murray to Philly for roughly 45-50 mil over 5 years. It will sting, but we'll survive.

(ps: hope I'm wrong)

On NFLN now, Rappoport saying Raiders, Jags, Eagles. Cowboys "pondering" whether to make last-minute offer.
