Mel mock 3.0

If we're taking an athletic safety at 28, why would we take Peppers when Melifonwu is bigger, faster, & jumps out of the gym? I think Peppers is going to be a return specialist, & run the ball a handful of times a game, & be a career backup safety. I say, trade down to the Browns at 33, get their 108 pick, & take Obi at the top of the 2nd round. That would give them another pick to take a quality corner at the top of the 4th.

I like Peppers more than I do Obi.

The Browns would be the time to talk trades with, but what are we offering besides #28? They already have two first rounds and would pick again five places behind Dallas.

Peppers vs Obi
classic football player vs measurables
who do you take?
as long as the "football" player doesnt have bad measurables, i think i take the football player first
maybe the "athlete (Obi) wel can get later

If there's a QB they really like sitting there at 28, with the Steelers & Saints looking to bring in an ultimate replacement for their again QBs, the Browns might be licking their chops to trade up. Whether it's the 28th or 33rd, the Cowboys will still get a top notch player, since this is the deepest DB/DE draft I've ever seen. Then, they will have the first pick on Day 3 at 108. They can use it to take the BPA, or use it to trade for more/future picks with a team who is hot for a certain player still sitting there.

You must not know Mike. The moment Peppers is the pick he becomes the right decision.

God love him.

Sounds like the majority here. I remember when people hated the thought of Campo becoming HC and then when it happened they jumped anyone who dared criticize it.
