LOL at people *****ing about this contract. It's pretty team friendly and this after some of the same people complaining about this contract thought it would be much worse.

Oy vey.

I meant that it's ironic that the Bears would let Melton walk but sign Ratliff mid season last year.

Well that went entirely over my head....whoosh. That makes complete sense. There's often a bit of story behind this stuff we never hear. I'm glad he's here. Great 'trade'. Best.

Doesn't matter. In year 2, it will still be among the highest paid contracts in the NFL. You can restructure but all that is doing is guaranteeing money in out years, above and beyond what we already owe. What are the odds that if we restructure in out years, the salary goes down? It wont, because as you have already stated, the salaries across the board are going to keep going up so basically, if we decide to keep him, it's going to be more expensive with more guaranteed out year money.

No matter how I look at this, the better contract was the one the Skins signed with Hatcher, IMO.
I agree with you, but the big difference is you can get out after 1 year if Melton doesn't come back from the ACL, we have to keep Hatcher 2 years before cutting him.

I agree it is weak wanting to play GM all the while ruining a great franchise like the Cowboys.

Ruining it for you maybe. I still ride this Cowboy train with as much excitement and enthusiasm as when my Granpa and I were watching the Ice Bowl together. You want to wallow in misery, have at it fella. Me, I look forward every single year to a new season and the greatness that is the National Football League. The greatest game in the world, and I root for the greatest football team ever....You haters need to find you a new gig...maybe hang out at a mortuary or something in your pumped up kicks....¿how's that for weak Big Fella

Many people are talking like this deal was uniquely offered to the cowboys but Woy was the agent at all the stops. I'm sure the same deal type was offered to each team (1 yr prove it with higher guarantee after that) but I truly believe Rod Marinelli was the deciding factor for him. my .02
Surprised that the Seahawks wouldn't take that $5 mm one year deal. Probably because it wasn't the same deal. Agents of B-level players don't dictate terms.
