Melvin Gordon

13 seconds into your video, it says Larry Johnsons weight. 228.
Fair enough about the 40. its not necessarily worth arguing about.

Ton of talent at the rb position this year. Be interesting to see how it plays out.

I don't love Gordon. He's got talent but he fumbles entirely too much for me. I like Coleman and he might be a guy who is there in the 3rd round.

I am not sure why people think Gordon can only run outside, most of his runs are inside but he is so much quicker than the Defenders that he will bounce it outside if he sees space.

I like Coleman. I don't know if I am splitting hairs, grasping at straws or whatever, but to me Gordons legs, especially his thighs look like a horses. Coleman kind of looks skinny in the legs. Again, I am not close enough to know for certain, its just something I noticed that may or may not be true.

Well, I know this.

On 11/12/14 Coleman ran for 228 yards on 27 carries and 3 TDs against OSU. On 12/6/14 Gordon ran for 76 yards on 26 carries with no TDs.

Common opponent and only a couple of weeks apart.

thats a simplistic comparison,OSU literally had 7-8 guys in the box on all running downs and they fell behind so fast that Stave(probably the worst QB in FBS) had to throw the ball 45 times.

The book on Coleman is that he a good down hill runner with great balance but they say he does not have breakaway speed. I'll be interested to see what he runs because in this clip, he runs away from Ohio State and they got some fast guys in their secondary.

But defensively, they are deep and have a tone of talent. They should not have been tired defensively. They gave up a lot of yards to Coleman.

He and T.J. Yeldon are my two choices for a RB in this draft. I like Gordon, but really don't want to spend our 1st on a RB. I think both of these guys could and likely will be available when we pick in the 2nd. I hope we go this route.

No need to be biased man... there are more common games.

Gordon had 13 att for 253 yards and 5 tds against bowling green
Coleman had 24 att for 190 yds and 3 tds against bowling green

both had 22 carries for 122 caries against Maryland, Gordon scored 3tds and Coleman 1td

Gordon had 19 carries for 128 yards and 2 tds against rutgers
Coleman had 32 carries for 307 yards and 1 td against Rutgers

Gordon had 25 carries for 205 yards and 1 td against Purdue
Coleman had 29 carries for 130 yards and 0 tds against Purdue

Kind of disconcerting that Yeldons best season was arguably 3 seasons ago. Also that Derrick Henry took half his carries this past year.

Not being bias. I'm comparing, what I believe to be the best defense each team has faced and comparing them a few weeks apart.

No on Yeldon,i dont like him anywhere in the first 4 Rds,he is like the opposite of Murray and will not get you those dirty yards plus these alabama RBs scare me.

Somewhat agree, but Yeldon passes the eyeball test with me. I've watched him play a lot. He can do everything well, doesn't really have any weaknesses in his game.

-Rushed for just under 1,000 yards this season on only 15 carries a game.
-At 6'1 221 lbs, he already has good size for an NFL RB.
-He has a good blend of power and speed for his size (reportedly runs a 4.4 40).
-Has great footwork. Doesn't dance. Is a "one-cut and go" runner, similar to Murray. Runs between the tackles well. Doesn't have a ton of miles on his tires.
-Although he wasn't utilized much as a pass catcher, (only 16 catches on the season & 1 Rec TD), he has shown flashes of good hands & can catch out of the backfield.
-Underrated aspect: He's good in pass protection, where his size helps him take on LB's and DE's.

Overall I just think he's going to be a good pro. Imo will be the steal of RB's in this draft, along with Coleman, If they're drafted in the 2nd or 3rd rounds as projected.

This is a deep draft for RBs. I hope we get a good one on day 2 or 3.

LOVE Gordon, I think he's a very dynamic runner and would be great for us. However, I have to say I like Gurley a lot more. Gurley changed a lot of games himself and IMO compares some to AP. The unfortunate thing, unless you're a Wisc or UGA fan is that both RBs had really good runners behind them so it was hard to tell much drop off when they were out.

There are four or five runners in this draft I really like
Lots of options. Gordon, Gurley, Coleman, Abdullah, etc.

Coleman and Duke Johnson are not only better value but much better fits for the Cowboys. Both can do more than just run. And this is coming from a huge Melvin Gordon fan.
