Melvin Gordon

No, he wasn't. At Penn State, Larry Johnson was about 6'1" 215 lbs. Melvin Gordon is 6'1" about 210. Watch Johnson early in his career. He could reach the edge. He had decent speed, probably better then Gordon.
He was 228 at the combine.

Players like that usually try to come in light to the combine in order to maximize their speed.

That may be but his playing weight was published on the Penn State Official Roster as 215. Regardless, I see a lot of similarities in the two but that's just my opinion.

I wouldn't mind picking him up at #27. He would ensure that we don't miss much of a step at RB in this post-Murray era (which is likely to happen) and I just don't see us getting an elite defensive player at #27.

An absolute stud. Best running back in the nation in my opinion and this is coming from a Husker fan who would love to see Ameer Abdullah with a star on his helmet. Not saying I would be 100% behind this pick but we would be VERY pleased having him running the ball behind this OL.

Best back to come out since AP. Not only would I draft him at 27, I would trade a third rounder to move up and get him a little earlier

We would gain more with Gordon. Absolute beast.....OMG I am starting to get crazy over this guy already
