We go back about 15 years from the old site . We actually agree on more than we don’t .

There are too many for me to single out, both from the old DC.com site and CZ but there are two that made the transition so much easier for most of us immigrants, Reality and Idgit.

You long time Zoners, just consider Reality telling you he is shutting down the site soon and within 24 hours, that takes place. You would feel homeless because I know how easy it can be to get connected to posters. Those two members of the admin made this as welcoming as they could for a bunch of posters in life rafts. And many of you helped with that and I sincerely appreciate the "eventual" arms open wide acceptance. LOL, we would have been the same way at DC.com if this situation had been reversed. "Who in the hell are all these new people, where did they come from and more importantly, when are they going back"?

Before I ever went to DC.com, if you had told me that I could so easily become a part of that community, I would have laughed but that happened and then because that happened there, it became easier for it to happen here.

And I know just when it happened over there and here. It was when the humanity of the site showed up in support of posters hurting. It wasn't what I expected and exactly what I needed, I would discover for myself since I have been at CZ. I needed it before then but didn't think to call on that for support. I know some have limited time to spend here or limited interest but I highly recommend spending time in the OTZ. That poster you've been arguing with? You might just find another side to them there.

I cannot adequately tell anyone about how important being a part of CZ is to me. I cannot tell them how close I feel to people I have never met and I get down on people attached to social media and that may very well be the reason they stay connected, so not really fair, is it? This is social media whether I like to think so or not so I am a part of that but liked to think of myself as "above" that.

I have had a lot of loss in my life over the past years and finding a place like this has made that more tolerable and it is the people that make the place. Reality built a great house but it did not become a home until you moved in. You should be proud of the home you've made.

I’m around, brother. Just lurking. The pandemic seasons really took a toll on my NFL addiction. But winning playoff games is helping to bring it back.
