"Guten tag cousins!!"

:D

Those are great dogs. We used to have one. Named Cricket.

I think it was the smartest dog we ever had.

The dog would literally look both ways before crossing the street. The dog also collected rocks. She had a rock from every state when we went from WV to Florida.

LOL, yup, they're funny dogs. Like most breeds, they have their little quirks

I've had 4 doxies over the years, and they're a great choice for folks that want a "big dog" mentality in a little dog pkg.

My big guy Gus (on the right in the pic) is the most gentle, loving sole I've ever known. When I'm at my house in the city, I'll take him on his evening walk and when he sees the neighborhood kids playing down the block, he'll get as excited as a human kid, straining on his leash to get to them so he can dominate them in their regular game of tag.

We'd been in our house for about a month, one afternoon the doorbell rang and it was a couple of the local girls whom I recognized, but hadn't yet learned their names.

One of the little gals shyly held out her hand, showing me a leash and asked, "Can Gus come out and play?"

Gus left, little girls in-tow, with his flag flying high (his tail), and I didn't see him for nearly 2 hours. :laugh2:

Yup, very cool looking dogs cg. I've always thought those were beautiful dogs when I saw 'em at Westminster.

Tell us a little about 'em would you please, temperament, what they're like around kids or strangers? Do they have any breed specific health problems?

Do you know of any quality breeders in the N Tex area, and what's the cost of a good puppy?

Thks.

Yes.

When we first got him his ears would stand up straight. Could not get them to stay down. Looked like the ears on the harry potter character.

There used to be a girl working at a whataburger here that looked just like Dobby too.

I swear, a buddy and I would always go there just to get a good laugh out of it. Funniest part is at first my buddy had never seen the movie, he watched the movie just because I told him that girl looked like Dobby. As soon as he saw him (Dobby) he fell off his chair. He couldn't believe how alike the looked.

:D

Coach, sorry for your loss. I've had a couple of family members (4 legged kind) die in my arms and it's the second hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. It sucks.

Thanks for the well wishes guys....I'm STILL adjusting. I had him for 8 years and got him when he was 8 weeks old. He and I went through some tough times together...mainly my divorce.

And thanks for the laugh Cowpoke....I needed that. :laugh2:

It really HURTS, putting down an animal who has been so close to you for so long... I had to put my first dog, Thunder, down when he was 16 (he developed a tumor at the base of his heart)... this was like 3 days after I'd buried my brother, you can imagine how well I took losing him so quickly after that...

But I insisted on being in the room when they put him down, I was scratching his ears and tellin' him what a good boy he was... he never knew what hit him... I still flash back to that night from time to time, but I got over it by tellin' myself that I gave that dog 16 years that any dog would have loved to have had...

I'm sure you gave yours a good life too, so console yourself with that...

Both of you (Yeager and Coach)...

And as I think I've said before, the day after I put Thunder down, I was down at the pound... a few days later, I brought Bear home... he got killed by a bear (ironically), and I went right out to the pound again... a few days later, I brought Aly (short for Alyeska) home... she's 8 now, and is nothing but a pure lovermutt... :D

Go get another dog, ASAP... that really does ease the hurt... you won't forget him, but as you the new dog worms his way into your heart, remembering him won't hurt as bad...

At least, that's the way it's worked for me...

We've got a full house of animals over here. The first one we got is Ramses, the big black kitty (also pictured is the smaller Gray cat, Mrs. Bungle):

http://i256.***BLOCKED***/albums/hh185/cerrakin/cats.jpg

Then Blitz, the German Shepherd came along. We'll go in chronological order with him:

http://i256.***BLOCKED***/albums/hh185/cerrakin/puppy.jpg

Then we got the hamsters. A pair of Roborovski hamsters which are pretty cute and well, they're hamsters:

And last, but certainly not least, Mrs. Bungle the kitty. She goes from pure love to pure crazy in a split second:

As does most any female, whether they have 4 legs, or 2... I'm convinced it's the lack of the Y chromosome...

Sophie and Hope, sisters form 2 different litters from one of the strays here.

http://i33.***BLOCKED***/albums/d57/Faerluna/SophieandHope.jpg

Rhett, another neighborhood stray

http://i33.***BLOCKED***/albums/d57/Faerluna/Rhett.jpg

Molly, yet another neighborhood stray

http://i33.***BLOCKED***/albums/d57/Faerluna/Molly.jpg

Daisy, my oldest. She and her 2 sisters were living outside a friend's house. My friend grabbed them, because on the busy street where they live they had seen so many cats get hit.

http://i33.***BLOCKED***/albums/d57/Faerluna/Daisy.jpg

I also care for about 16 or so strays that live in our neighborhood. Thankfully, I have been working with a woman that is part of a trap, neuter, release program and we have gotten nearly all of them fixed, aside from a few elusive ones that are very shy. Hopefully we can get them all soon.

Last one. Here we see him doing his favorite thing: finding the biggest stick and run around with it, laughing....
