Ok, I tried this memo to JG thing right after that agonizing loss to the Giants. So I thought I would try it again.

For those who don't remember, here is what i proposed after the Giants game.

1. Most of the NFL runs some variable of a rub route, its time we start trying.
2. Dez needs to be in motion more, and find ways of getting him the ball in space.
3. when a team stacks the box and is showing a double a gap blitz, lets stop trying to run right up the middle.
4. Any 3rd and long, lets delete the quick pass to Witten, that will NEVER work.
5. Incorporate the halfback pass or flea flicker to the playbook, those used to be staples in the past.

Here are a couple for the Defense

1. When we are playing immobile QB's, lets try some blitzes up the middle, sending OScan off the corner and not from the blindside is almost useless.
2. Wilbur is not a pass rusher off the edge, get somebody else in there to try.

Well 4 weeks later, I have seen the team try and do some of these things, although we haven't tried a flea flicker or hb pass (which i highly encourage) we did try that onside kick.

So I composed a new list of things to do.

1. Dak vs Romo thing, stay with Dak till you need to go to Romo.
2. You must try to take a deep shot especially early in the game, keep the safeties honest. (so important)
3. Keep Zeke's carries at 20 or less a game....no need to punish the kid with so much of the season left.
3. It's important to give Escobar a series or 2 during the game, Witten is great, Escobar needs to play.
4. Continue to work some RB screens especially when they see a Blitz coming.

Defense

1. Stop blitzing Brown or Scandrick from the left side...If you blitz them, do it from the blindside.
2. Play Davis more on passing downs, he constantly gets a push toward the QB.
3. Keep Crawford at LDE and Lawrence at RDE.
4. Keep Mo at LCB and Carr at RCB and Scan/Brown as the slot corners.

that is all for now

I'd like to see the LB delay blitz. Every-time we blitz I can see it on TV so I'm sure the other team can read it too.

Agreed. Let them think they're going to have time to take a shot downfield, only to have Sean Lee smack the QB right in the chops.

TOTALLY!!!! I have been saying this constantly...we telegraph ourselves so badly on the blitz, it's pathetic...we get stoned almost every time...we could've gotten to Dalton for 8 sacks if we had some effective delayed blitzes...wud've prevented him from getting out of trouble.

They do run rub routes. Subtle rub routes. Witten rubs for Bease all the time.

How about this: Do what you've been doing the past 4 games (i.e. The ones that you won).

The Garrett haters have to be hating this win streak hard

A lot of those post week 1 folks are strangely absent..and some of the regulars, I'm sure they're busy now like in 14.
