*Merged* 2 RBs Over 1000 yards On This Team This Year

I'll give you one hundred to one odds that we won't have two RBs over 1000 yards. I'll put up to 100 dollars on it, which means you'd owe me 1 dollar if I win.

I'd like to take some of that. I have a tenner right here.

100-1 odds....right?

We are more of a pass-happy team. We've been that way since Romo took over.

I would love to see it happen, but how is Felix going to gain over 1000 when he's hardly in there.

It's been a LONG time since I've seen a team leave ONE RB in there for all 3 downs without a break. The only reason Barber came out was due to him getting hurt. I thought the coaching staff could have done a better job with the RB rotation prior to that point.

I have been re-thinking this....all that each one has to do is average around 70 yards per game....it "could" happen of course.

I see Felix getting more carries this week with Barber being a little bit banged up.

1000 yards apiece actually only comes out to about to about 62.5 yards per game for each. It's not out of the realm of possibility. 2000 yards for the season is a reasonable goal considering the pounding yards that Barber will rack up and the home runs that Felix will produce.

both could gain 1000 yards on the ground. It has not been done since Kevin Mack and Earnest Byner did it in Cleveland (i think 87/88).

If not what about a combined 2000 yds?

Considering Felix Jones didn't sniff the field until MB3 got injured I'm going to have to disagree with you.

Barber is not being asked to only produce 62.5 rushing yards per game. He was signed to be the feature back. Felix will get some attempts, but I don't think he will get enough to average 62.5 rushing yards per game.

1000 yards a piece is possible but highly unlikely. Now, if we're talking about 2000 yards combined then I think that its pretty likely it will happen, barring an injury.

Give him just a couple of carries and he has it. :)

Heck, give him one carry and he could have it. :)

In 2006, Julius Jones as the starter and the guy who got the majority of the rushing attempts together with Marion Barber put up 2076 yards from scrimmage. I think Dallas is in better shape now with Barber as the starter and Felix Jones as the back up, so them combining for over 2000 yards seems very reasonable. I also think Garrett is a better offensive coach than what Dallas had in 2006.

Watching the game the other day, it was hard to believe that we would have given the ball to Julius instead of Barber. IMO, 99% of those plays were wasted, unless our lineman need a prostate exam.

Seniorette, take that bet. They'd have to average 62.5yds each. It should be no problem for Barber. It may be a bit difficult for Felix, but he's on the verge of breaking a big one couple times a game. I also think he'll get enough carries late in the game where you may have a decent shot at winning this bet.
Say yes, and it's done at 100 bucks to 1 dollar.

I would take that bet as well. All your risking is one dollar with the chance to win 100. And if we blow out teams like last year there is going to be a lot of running in the 4th quarter just to run out the clock. Most of that load will be Felix.
I'll take it.

I am. Why not? It's fun.

I said max I'd go is $100.00, so You'd owe me a buck if they don't.

I here ya...heck i will pay pall you $10.
Ditto above.

I'll stop there. $5 vs. $500. Ought to be kind of fun if you guys are serious.

Just to be clear, both guys have to break 1000, which is what I said from the get go. I'm taking all the risk on this, but have easily the best odds.

Combined 2000...sure it's possible.

Each with 1000...no way, never, not with a passing team like ours.

Im not saying it will happen do to the carry ratio, but if 2000 together is possible with a passing team, then 1000 a piece is possible if the carries are balanced between the two backs.

You definitely got a free extra value meal from McDonalds out of this bet.

No way two backs on this team break 1000 yards a piece. Especially considering that in the last 36 years only 3 teams have done it if I remember right.. last time was the Browns back in the 80s I think (could be wrong though).

No matter how you look at it though, you could have given them 1000:1 odds and you'd still be robbing them out of their milk money. LOL

I really don't see them both getting 1000 yards. I'd be pleasantly surprised but I don't see them being able to do it.

With the Cowboys high powered passing attack, would it be impossible for Barber and Felix to rush for over 1,000 yards each? Last year Marion Barber-975 yards and Julius Jones-588 yards.
It's only been done 3 times:

'85 Browns - Kevin Mack 1104 and Earnest Byner 1002
'76 Steelers - Franco Harris 1128 and Rock Bleier 1036
'72 Dolphins - Larry Csonka 1117 and Mercury Morris 1000

I think we have way too much of a passing threat for that to happen. But I do believe these two guys have the talent and the skills, as well as the offensive line, to produce those kind of numbers.

If we get ahead of teams as we did last game. It might be feasible. Since we dont rack up the score like the cheatriots.

I think there is a good chance that Tashard Choice will get some carries too, which would further lower the odds of two 1000+ rushers on the team this year.

I'm psyched that the Cowboys drafted Choice and that he's been performing pretty well.

It is great to be three deep at RB.

(It wasn't so long ago that Hambrick was the only option.)
