Merrill Hoge on NFL live

The 90s team's offense absolutely dismantled all the 3-4 teams they faced. The extra LBers fed into the power running game they played. Lett, Haley, Jeffcoat and Tolbert would have gotten to Rodgers and they cannot run anyway.

The 90s Cowboys were built to destroy a team like the current Packers.

They do look as good as any team I have seen in a long-time.

They would have to win the super bowl this year, before this conversation should even take place.

Agreed. IMO, they're the second best team we've seen in at least the last decade, with only the 2007 Patriots being better. Although I will say that Aaron Rodgers is currently playing at the highest level I've ever seen a QB play. He makes it look simple.

Fuzzy is right. Those Cowboys teams, with Nate, Step and Larry absolutely devistated 34 NTs. If you can't get good play there, then you can't stop the run if you are a 34 team. The Cowboys would have dominated the Packers Defense.

Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Co. and Aikman, Irvin, Smith, and co. would light up that defense with ease and I don't think he realizes how fast and deep the Cowboys defenses were in the 90s.

Stop watching ESPN. I did so a long time ago and my life is a lot less stressful.

Me too. I used to watch all the time, DVR when I couldn't watch it live, etc~ since I gave it up, life has been so much less stressful for me. Especially, and I can't stress this enough, especially after a loss. Just say no, man. Just say no.

And "no" is the correct answer to Hodge and his idiocy.

Were it possible to do so, the Packers would be lucky to get a split if playing those teams. Especially the Cowboys- that would be a loss for them all day long- with the defense what it was. No way they keep up with the triplets in scoring.

But who is GB's factor back? And are they making a seal here, and a seal here, and running it up the alley?

Well, that pretty much takes care of everything he says in his analysis.

im thinking......No....
Funny how he left out the 70s stealer teams:star: :

:laugh2: at Hoge.

The 90s Cowboys were dominant in every phase of the game. The Packers are sensational at one thing, and one thing only.

Lol...I was going to mention that too.

Umm... The 80's 49ers and 90's Cowboys were the best COMPLETE teams I've ever seen in NFL history, so umm Hodge must bed concussed once again.

So what? I mean, he's one man with one opinion. He's completely entitled to that opinion, but that's all it is.

I was actually thinking the same thing, Mr. Factor Back went against his nature, guess he has been listening to Jaws too much.

I would've hated to see even Raji try to stand up to Allen, Step, and Nate coming at him. They might have to put police tape around that crime scene.

It depends. By whose rules are we playing? The Packers are a team built to dominate in the modern, pass-happy era in which defensive backs can scarcely breathe on a receiver without drawing a flag.

If we're playing by pre-2000 rules, the Packers get throttled, in my opinion.

If it was that gentle, particularly that easy, why don't we put up 30 + points a game like them at will?

I don't think they are better than the 80's 49ers and 90's Cowboys but they are certainly better than the Rams were and more dominating than those New England teams, despite their trophies.

Why was my Merrill Hoge in a thong pic censored? It was valuable evidence for this thread.

Their passing game is about as good as it gets. As far as the whole package, no. Not a very good running game and at this point, a very poor pass defense.

Well, Aaron Rogers is playing at a disturbing level right now, but they should at least let the season play out before they start making dynasty comparisons.

The think there's more that seperates the Packers from whoever the 2nd best team is because right now, no one is as good as them, but in a head to head, no the Packers aren't better.

I don't think they're better than the 96' Packer team to be honest.

In the 70's, 80's and early 90's when a QB could be hit and no flag thrown, I doubt Rodgers would have a chance.
With the way the QB is so protected now a days, I am sure they would make a game of it against the 90's Cowboys.

One thing for sure, is we will never know.
