Merriman named defensive rookie of year

Point taken in Little, but the second half of the year, we made a couple of DEs look better than they are. My point however is, Ware probably has the most potential to improve over he and Merriman. Merriman had the build and maybe the "roid-rage" to deal with the NFL initially. Ware was from a small school and was moving to a different position but yet they almost have identical sack numbers.

Bet Ware would have gotten this award in San Diego. Merriman did not have to cover downfield at all.

How did he get 5 pass defenses then?
