We gave up 164 yards and 2 TDs in the run game yesterday.

Was there a realistic option to keep him? He wanted out. He made as much clear on live TV, rendering any argument as to why he should stay or go completely irrelevant....

I don't think Micah ended with very many pressures. Baldy just cherry picked out a couple plays he won on.

Pressures are subjective but PFF gave him 10 on 30 snaps. NFL+ gave him 7 on 29 snaps. Either way a 24% pressure rate or a 33% pressure rate is pretty good, especially when getting chipped all night and mainly just rushing four.

What Micah provides is the key ingredient to Bland and Diggs success, QB pressure. When opposing qbs are rushed to pass they flourish. We can't seem to get any with our front four. Eberflus needs to dial it up already, especially in obvious passing situations.

Yes, but its dangerous to judge an individual player for team results. The Packers defense didn't struggle because of Micah Parsons. The Packers defense struggled because their DBs got taken to school.

Here, here. Denigrating Micah is taking away the work that Dak did to manage the rush, the work that Pickens and Turpin did as 1 and 2.

Dak missed Turpin breaking open on the Packers DB in the first half. By the second half their secondary was not performing well.

I don't think we are giving nearly enough credit to our offensive skill players and our play callers here. They were able to get the football out at an unbelievably quick rate that neutralized GB.

There is lots of opinion on why Dak sucks, but we don't consider the way Garrett and Co. brought him into the league.

Strong running game and "small ball" strategy based on quick throws.

Everyone focuses on Zeke as the magic elixir to cure Dak's ills, but Dallas and Dak has suffered from the departure of Cole Beasley.

In his rookie year Dak mentioned in his first month that Cole, "was always open". The first three weeks of his 2016 rookie campaign Cole was the leading receiver on the team that featured Dez Bryant and Jason Witten and Terrance Williams.

If you rewatch the 2016 season you will lots of 5-7 yard passes and very little throws early in the season to the boundary or deep in the seam.

Zeke and the o-line dominated and throws to Cole and Witten were more like long handoffs. It was an easy game for Dak to manage.

Not a bad formula.

They apparently award pressure if you are able to make any progress into the backfield though. Early in the game they said he had like 4 and he had not, in any way, affected the offenses ability to execute the play. (unless I missed a play)

I mean if it doesn't impact anything, how is it any different than a CB being in phase with the receiver but not actually affecting the delivery of the ball?

He plays hard (when he's on the field). Generally gets some push and can certainly get home or impact the play. Did he last night? Not so much.

Did you watch the post game interview with Jerry? The host asked Jerry to confirm how the last few hours of negotiations with Micah and his agent went. Jerry confirmed that when Micah caught wind that they were working on a potential trade with the Packers, Micah reached-out to Jerry to try and work out a contract to remain with the team.

So that’s Jerry confirming Micah wanted to stay with the Cowboys.

They Cowboys certainly didn't struggle due to Micah in this one, I agree, but the point is what the Cowboys did offensively is not going to be replicated over a 17 game schedule. This was an incredible effort by Parsons erased simply because it was an even more incredible effort by Dak. Parsons absolutely wrecked our OL on film.

My question still remains then brother.
If he wrecked it individually and is so impactful then did Schott just blueprint the rest of the NFL on how to limit his impact?

When Guyton went out that was 3 UDFAs, a 7th rounder and a 1st rounder holding down the fort.
A defensive MVP type is to lift all those players performance around him, correct?

IF the "result" of a Micah pressure is repeated net gains to the offense then that is not an actual positive impact by Micah. No matter how you want to spin PFFs subjectivity.

It's like the old spin of Lawrence or even "almost Anthony Spencer" and convincing me their pressures are as effective as actual sacks.

That simply isn't true.
You're as knowledgeable as anyone on this board but the ultimate impact of Parsons performance was negligible based off the actual results of his individual snap wins.
Dallas won far more snaps than Green Bay did while Parsons was rushing the passer.

In a way you're right, but that is where pressures get lumped into one stat but really its a combination of sacks, hits, hurries, and now we are seeing the analytics sites add more categories to break these up to tell a fuller story. A lot of pressures are not even due to the OL getting beat but the QB hanging onto the football for too long too.

The issue you run into is that there are two different ways to evaluate a player....one and this is what PFF does that drives a lot of people crazy is they measure everything independently of what happens with your 10 other teammates on the field. For example if Dak throws a strike for a TD pass to Ferg but Ferg drops the football PFF still scores that as a completed pass for Dak while Ferg gets the minus grade. Same thing here with Parsons where if he wins his individual matchup but the QB gets the ball out fast and away from Parsons where the QB doesn't notice or feel any pressure they will likely still grade that as a pressure. The logic being that he did everything in his power to generate a pressure there, but it was simply the play call that beat him and likely an issue in coverage. Its about not faulting a player for happenings outside of their control.

The other way to evaluate is completely dependent upon outcomes. This really is the ideology that you should throw out pressures all together. Did they get to the QB and get the sack? If not why do I care type of attitude. Maybe Dak throws a strike to the receiver that is dropped, but this way of evaluating scrutinizes why the WR dropped the ball. Was it catchable but wobbled? Timing off so the pass came out too early/late?

No wrong answer there. Personally I like more of the grading independent upon the rest of the play as that typically projects long term success/failure with more accuracy, but we also know of those players that have incredible evaluation metrics but just never seem to make plays too.
