All you Mazi haters on blast
So you took from his tweet that he is calling out so-called haters, a term that simply shows intellectual laziness, instead of him simply saying that the NFL places high expectations on rookies? The lengths some will go to create a narrative and dig further into their agenda.
That said, when owners are dedicating upwards of $38M (near $25M guaranteed) to top rookie draft picks I would say that comes along with a certain degree of expectations.

On it's way to becoming one of the worst drafts in several years. Drafting for need almost always turns into disaster. A slob of a DT and a backup TE.

When it comes to Mazi I’d rather have him learn from these preseason games and become a force in the regular season and playoffs as opposed to dominating the preseason and disappointing when it matters.

Mazi is the least of my worries. I’m worried/chicken littling about the depth at LB and offensive line. If I’m going to catastrophize then I’m going to catastrophize about a real problem. We need depth at LBer and offensive line. We’re a couple injuries away from real problems.

I feel people want validation that we made the right pick with Mazi so they want to see dominant play in the preseason. I think that’s unrealistic. He can be dominant but he’ll grow into it. After the preseason no one said Micah was the best defensive rookie or best defensive player. It took a couple games. Give Mazi some time to learn the NFL and know his role, technique, speed, etc.

75% of nfl fans know absolutely NOTHING about football

you take a DT and people think their job is "sack sack sack and more sacks or they suck" and when you tell them

your DT stalemating his man or a double team frees up the LB to make plays they look at you like youre stupid

how on earth did Ray Lewis make so many plays? do you not think Siragusa (RIP) had a hand in that?

this Mazi Smith hate is stupid and shows this fan base is a LARGE part of that 75% that dont know anything about football

does Mazi need work? YES! sometimes he stands straight up he needs to get LOW and the times he does get low he pushed back a 6'7 350 lb man WITH EASE

Because the world is filled with people who think they are professional analysts and in truth they are nothing more than keyboard warriors. As Drake once said, lots of folks have “Twitter Fingers”.These folks want rookies to all be like Micah was, and that’s what makes him a generational player.

I've actually seen a few posters here say they believe they know more about NFL food than coaches, scouts and players. I love to be entertained by those type. They really believe they know more than those highly paid professionals.

It didn’t take long for Parsons to adapt, he had star written all over him right from the time he suited up in camp as a rookie. He was looking so good in camp and preseason they didn’t play him that much fearing injury. He would get a couple of series and they would pull him, because they knew he was going to be a big-time player for them during the season. They’re playing Mazi practically the entire game hoping the light will come on. If he was a sixth or seventh round draft pick or an undrafted free agent he might not even make the team. Right now he’s looking like a late round pick or undrafted free agent.

instead of him simply saying that the NFL places high expectations on rookies?
I’m pretty sure Micah isn’t saying the NFL puts high expectations on rookies… he’s talking about the media and fans, and he is right.

People act like a double team pushing back Mazi means that he is Taco, when I’ve seen Vince Willfork and Vita Vea get pushed back.

It is crazy and waaayy off base. What’s funny is that most fans don’t even really no what they’re looking at with the play of interior DL. Other fans need to just move on and not listen to those fans.
