Micah, can you just be a bit more humble?

Humility - the feeling or attitude that you have no special importance that makes you better than others; lack of pride
Modesty
- the quality of not being too proud or confident about yourself or your abilities. "She accepted the award with modesty."

Can you see the difference? Humility comes from a word that means to "stamp oneself down"...it's a lack of pride. Whereas modesty is about not having too much confidence.

To accept an award "with humility" would mean that you almost didn't feel you deserved it...you're of no special importance to stand out.

To accept an award "with modesty" is to be both proud and confident, but not TOO MUCH.

You're Welcome.

They are examples of him not being the modest individual you want him to be. And you are back to the megalomania. Get over yourself, holmes.
Again, using words you don't quite understand. School is open. All day, every day. Office Hours. Open door policy.

Now with edgy routine. There is how you want to be and then there is you ranting for hundreds of words when called on your nonsense. Several of us have commented on it.

Go ahead and rant away because Parsons is not modest enough for your taste.
"Several of us have commented on it" - see again...you can't help yourself.

Stand on your own two...or is that too "edgy" for you?

Humility: lack of pride
Modesty not being too proud.

From your own definitions.

Your self importance is extremely evident, holmes. In this case you feel that you can "school" me.

The fact that you see no difference...or can't understand how they are not synonymous is telling.

A simple google search:

Modesty and humility are closely related, but they are not the same. The opposite of humility is pride; the opposite of modesty is presuming too much, vanity and conceit. “Humility” comes from the root humus, meaning earth, and has the thought of lowliness. “Modesty” comes from the root modestus, meaning moderate.

I bet ...you'll try to parse this too. You're exposing yourself as...obsessed with the power of being right...even when you're wrong. Kinda...megalomaniacal, eh?

You're quoting a blog and not citing it. He even equivocates and says one is a facet of the other later in the blog. Here's a thesaurus.

https://www.thesaurus.com/browse/humility

Yup it's a listed synonym. As I said before words have many meanings.

And you are trying so hard to win a point of fact that you have lost anything resembling a point. The whole forest to a tree thing.

Nonsense. Someone has to be the most ignorant big mouth in the NFL. He’s perfect.

Mike Parson's boxing lessons made him even more aggressive and effective as well. His hands can clear more efficiently now.

Resignation and fawning are ALSO listed as synonyms to humility.

To not know the difference is to not know difference.

I don't think people understand the mentality of someone that is this good at their job. Especially when that job involves direct, physical competition.

I don't advocate humility, I think humility is a useless tool. I strongly advocate modesty...knowing and being aware of one's LIMITS. Sure, brag all you want Micah, but understand the cost of speaking up and drawing all the attention.

Lions in the wild do this all the time. They protect their territory like hell, but they know their limits and understand the cost of trespassing.

I hope I'm wrong, but other than "he has the right to say this", I would love for someone to explain the wisdom of what he is doing.
Its just more instant media. Deion, Irvin, Hollywood Henderson, Beautiful Harvey Martin, and Tony Dorsett said and did a lot that would have bit been considered humble.

Micah bugs you because he does not have the skins on the wall...yet.

No, it's the fact that Micah has a megaphone. Yes, the moments with Harvey Martin resonated, but he wasn't the team leader. Micah is in a delicate position - he assumed the mantle of leadership. That means he brings smoke on guys who can't back it up like him. See Colorado St coach. He spoke for his team...and they better share his resolve.

...and stop commenting on social media about work-related issues? Every other day, there's a new story about what Micah has to say about whoever/whatever. Wish he would just shut up and play football, which - undeniably - he does extremely well. I just think he puts a lot of bad karma out there.

Most coaches say that, Jimmy didn't coin it. He's been gone for close to 30 years and he's still being brought up on a consistent basis. He was great.....but, he's in the past.
Ranching---i want to see not only our defense but our offense put the hurt on Jets

Weve needed an emotional, angry, confident leader on defense for years. Now we have one and your complaining?

this is what immature young kids do.

The guy plays with an attitude of trying to be the best.

He's also only 24 years old full of piss and vinegar.

He backs his words with his play on the field.

Sooner or later he will learn that the more you say on social media where your words are kept for your lifetime, sooner or later it could bite you in the butt.
