How much is he going to cost us? I know he still has a couple years left on his rookie deal but I can see him getting 25 mill per. 6 year 150 mill with 100 million guaranteed?

When the time comes, my guess is Micah is going to command $32 - $35M a year.
That Donald contract reset the market.

He has 2 years and a 5th year team option left on his rookie contract.
I would attempt to trade Diggs for two premium draft picks and let DQ coach them up.I wouldn't. Diggs can leave. Not interested.
And two franchise tags, before we have to let him walk. His health may not hold up that long.He has 2 years and a 5th year team option left on his rookie contract.
I guess as problems go, it's a good one to have but you are right, the cap means hard decisions are often needed.
At the risk of derailing the original posters thread, I wish "home grown" players only counted 80% to the cap or something like that to reward good drafting.
Next year,....he's going to start pushing. He may be the best defensive player in NFL. I guarantee you he THINKS he's the best PLAYER in the NFL.
He, and his agent, aren't going to want to just play out his rookie deal, and risk year after year that he suffers some sort of injury that will change the lotto ticket he'sin line for.. He'll play next season, but will start making major noise. Then next offseason,...it will be New Contract, OR no play.
They have as much as 4 more years of control after this year (5th year tender because he was a first rounder, and then they can tag him, if need be). They have plenty of time to get his next deal sorted out. It’s gonna cost them, though. Will they try to classify him as a LB to get a cheaper deal, or will they do the right thing and offer him a deal for a top-flight edge rusher? Lots of wickets to jump through on his next contract…whatever his deal is, it’ll be the highest in the league for a defensive player at that time.
I agree that it would be foolish for the team to take the approach I listed...was merely pointing out that, if necessary, they have several more years of control, if it were to come to that. They're not going to do that. Players that teams know they want to keep, get an extension after their 3rd year. There are multiple reasons for doing that. One reason is that it's cheaper, and the cap hits are smaller because there's still a 4th year left on the rookie deal to allocate bonus money.
Waiting for the contract to run out, or signing a player to a new deal after being tagged is a failure on the team's part. It's never done by design.
If he can negotitate after his 3rd we should do that and sign him to a longer deal for less money per year.Any NFL agent would advise Parsons to hold out after his third season. The Cowboys realize this.
LOL. Dak isn't going anywhereBy the time we sign him, Dak and Zeke (our biggest cap busts) will be gone. Not too worried.
Yes, we should. If he can negotitate after his 3rd we should do that and sign him to a longer deal for less money per year.

We will probably trade him for a fifth….
