IF Jerry gives him an extension before his 4th year, that would be moronic. The whole advantage of rookie contracts is getting a player cheaply so you can pay the guys who are due . When you do things like we did with Zeke, it negates the advantage of the rookie contract. Sometimes, you hit a home run and get more for the money. Rookie contracts are the length they are for a reason and the players union agreed to it.

For those who are concerned Micah will be living in poverty, he's going to make more money off the field in endorsements playing for the highest profile team in the league than he'll ever make in salary.

No one is worrying. As I said before... I enjoy the off-season dynamics of building the team almost as much as game day. I'm not worried at all if we get the deal done. Just speculating. Oh... and speaking of the off-season, GO SAINTS. It's unlikely but Philly just can't get Will Anderson or the DT from Georgia. They just can't!

That's why you want to spread it over a couple years of his rookie salary.

Parsons is going to ask for a ton of guaranteed money. You want to front-load some of that and pay it when he's young and healthy, then leave the later and more uncertain years as optional base salary.

25 per isn’t getting it done. He’s gonna want to set the market and Myles Garrett is already getting 25 so I could see 30 per as the starting point.
