Someone should ask Micah, "Micah, how many sacks have you gotten while going up against Tyler Guyton?"

Answer: **crickets**
From what I've read, Guyton has won some, but he's also lost some. Maybe Parsons is the reason he took some sick days?

He's just a bit wee immature for the leadership role. Experience tells you to say LESS...especially when you have a winning hand.
He will never be a leader. His personality just is not built for it. He is supremely talented and one of the best players in the league, but not a leader of grown men.

DLaw is closer to that, but never really took complete ownership of the defensive unit.

The defensive side of the ball has been missing a true field captain since Sean Lee departed.

"Yeah, it's pretty much over and I'm in rhythm now," Parsons said Monday, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "The first few days. I haven't played in seven, eight months. I mean, I know my angles. I feel like I'm in week four right now. I'm in rhythm. There's nothing they can do. They might as well start chipping, sliding, or it's gonna be a long day here.

"If they don't chip, there will be a five-, six-sack day every day. It's pretty much over. I'm gonna tell you that right now. This is this is what it's gonna keep looking."

I really don't see an issue here. I agree that I would love to see a less is more approach with Micah in talking to the media, but this is pretty mild stuff.
The issue is that nothing has changed besides the defensive scheme. Micah still talking about sacks while he clearly was called out by Malik Hooker and others for his lack of attention to the run game. All he thinks of is himself...and the podcasts, the lack of attention to his weaknesses, the overemphasis on sacks and what people are saying are all tale-tale signs of immaturity.

You don't think that is a massive change? The guy came into camp 10lbs lighter in anticipation of playing more at the 2nd level. You have a defensive coordinator who is meeting with him early every morning trying to teach him the defense well enough to teach the rest of the unit. Even the link you posted has a video of an interview of Micah talking about training with the guys on defense with an emphasis of not fading down the stretch.

I hate Micah's podcast, and think he sounds like a fool half the time he gets in front of a mic. He certainly lacks awareness of how he comes across, and doesnt take accountability publically often at all. I hate that he missed mini cap aside from the mandatory portion. I hate that he goes on draft shows with CJ Stroud and gets clowned by a guy eats, sleeps, and breathes football. A guy saying during an interview in training camp that he feels in rhythm and is confident he can get sacks if they play him 1v1 is not a sign of immaturity though.

I agree with you completely in the bigger picture that Micah still has some growing up to do, but this is about as weak of a quote to bash him on as you'll ever see.

Are you saying Sean Lee was more of a leader than Parsons?
Yes. I think that is pretty obvious.

Micah is the ultimate defensive weapon, much better than Sean Lee ever was, but he is not someone that his teammates seem to rally behind and respect (for more than just his talent).

I don’t mind chirping, trash talking, shade, whatever it’s called. As long as it is backed up on the field, especially when it matters most. Talk is always cheaper than results.

Talk + results is fine. (See Michael Irvin, Michael Jordan, Lawrence Taylor, etc)
Talk + occasional results (and not in the biggest of games) not so much.

Based on the whole team’s performance last January in the playoffs, there should be zero talking and a ton of working.

Sorry. I was fairly encouraged by what Micah had to say. Plenty of references to learning and he sounds quite enthusiastic regarding his new role. He referenced training differently for endurance, so he recognizes late season dips in performance, and just a couple phrases (such as, “all the little things”) he used are from the mouths of coaches which to me demonstrates he’s listening. He was even giving Mike his props and many were apprehensive as to how the two would mesh.

Many who view Micah negatively will always look for one thing he says, or doesn’t even say but alludes to, and run with it. He’s not eloquent in front of the mic – he’s not Dak. It’s why he’s any easy interview. He’s going to give you material to contemplate and twist to your liking.

If this is as bad as it gets, I’ll take it all day.

Soon as he's schemed against someone not wearing a cowboy star on their helmet, he will be sack less as usual when we need him

I don't know why this is such a hard concept for people to get behind. I guess if someone can't be embarrassed about the team after a game like that, I doubt they ever will be. Just Happy being a cheerleader pretty much.

Don't get the problem with this. He's talking about camp and from reports, he WAS a problem for the offense yesterday so he's basically saying he's comfortable in the new system.
Exactly ... another player on the team made similar comments last week and there were threads praising him. Our fanbase is going to be crying "no pressure on the qb" when they all get their wish and Parsons is gone.
