society has rules, the prohibition against adultery is not one of them, at least not in the western world, If he committed a sexual assault, then he should do his time, but people here are judging him for being a gasp "serial philanderer" and "cheating on his wife" which is exactly what the cast the first stone verse is against
Ironic that you would reference adultery and then reference the "judge not that you be not judge." The same Jesus who said both said them during the "Sermon on the Mount."
The issue here is not the crime but the behavior. People aren't saying that Irvin is necessarily guilty of the crime. They're saying that he shouldn't be in these situations and shouldn't be especially because he's a married man!!!
How is that judging him based on the verse you cited?
I know we can't have a complete conversation about this, but my issue is with your citation of the verse. That is one of the most, if not the most, misinterpreted, misquoted and taken-out-of-context verse in the good book.
It doesn't mean how you tried to interpret it to mean.
Oh, and the cast the stone verse had to do with the death penalty. No one has recommended Irvin be put to death for cheating on his wife. So, you're incorrect on what the meaning is because the same person who said it also told the woman "go and sin no more." I guess he was judging her too? </sarcasm>
