Those comparing this pick to last year's 2nd. I don't think Gregory is or was close to Smith's level coming out of college. Jaylon Smith should be more hyped than Gregory.

Jaylon is way more hyped than Gregory ever was, that's for sure.

Gregory was very hyped up , but things got quite after the drug tests showed positive every time he was tested. Many teams took him off the board and the chatter ceased:

Jaylon Smith this year, last year Gregory was the next Reggie White.
Erm, the comparison was always with great undersized pass rushers, like Jason Taylor, or by Marinelli himself to Simeon Rice. You're just making it up about the White comp to better illustrate your point.

Read the post in this thread and tell me we don't have some people stuck on negative.

OP post a positive article where cowboys great Mike Irvin is excited about our 2nd round pick and a bunch of depressed negative dudes chime in with some crap about if the guy will even play or not.

Its just amazing how some people cant let themselves be happy.

Its like if we just won a game and are sitting at 4-0 and people want to complain that we gave up 3 sacks. Just enjoy the ride.

Negative dudes is being very kind.

They are the definition of an adult crybaby. Your examples aren't an exaggeration either. Except, during 2014 most of them didn't post during the win streak.

I believe in this kid more than any draft pick this team has had in recent memory. I don't understand why so many people want to focus on the negative possibilities. The Cowboys got a player that would have been a top three pick with the 34th selection, bottom line. It will be like getting a bonus first round choice when he comes back in 2017. If Jerry is right, maybe sooner.

Of course, I realize there's a chance he may never play. But no draft pick, even the healthy ones, come with guarantees. Any of this year's first rounders could be ridiculous busts. But from reading about Jaylon Smith, and learning what he's all about, I would not bet against him.

Get well, Jaylon, and lead this defense for years to come!!

Is it negative to discuss the reality of the situation? Nobody knows how well Skith will recover, including doctors. That is just the way it is. I think everybody is hoping for the best, but some of us are preparing for the worst. There is nothing negative about it.
