ok,. but right now he's still under contract.

With all the Dallas talk, don't you think Reid is smart enough to start working on a trade the 1st day the season ends?

now though we would have to get rid of Key cause 3 over 30 WR's is not a good thing...

Yeah, funny thing is, Johnson, Glenn, and T.O. are all from the rookie class of '96. I think they were all first rounders, too (maybe not T.O.).

if T.O. changes his attitude around and can still perform well on the field, then i wouldn't mind him playing for dallas

everyone says if we get TO we will have to get rid of a top reciver liek glenn, key, or crayton, i say we don;t and might even run 3 wide recviver sets as base
anyways there is ONE reason not to get TO and that is because he disrespects the star

i have no problem going for a former rival hell denon sanders one of our best players but the whoel disrespectign star is what is the problem
does no one remember ?

He wasn't disrespecting the "star" as much as he was disrespecting the team that his team was facing. I really don't think its that big of a deal.

Also why do NFL contracts nto garuentte income liek NBA contracts do? it seems unfair. Teams can cut them and end contract but players have a hard time cutting up their contracts.

Only reaosn I can think why is that they are afraid a person will get hurt and then pay them and them not play. BUt that just seems unfair because if they have a carrer ending injury that player is finished and needs their money. Seems players are taking way to much risk with them not getting paid. Ofoucrse there shoudl be insuranc so that if they do have a caerer ending injury the insurance pays them contract as if they were still abel to earn money. Personally I think the whole sorry we dontl liek you know we wonlt pay you after agreeing to pay you and that is why you choose us over X team is unfair.

What do you mean if we had listen to Irvin we would have drafted Moss. Good grief, it was because of bad image Irvin helped promote that forced JJ to stay away from Moss although in his heart I think JJ wanted him. As result of the bad image Irvin helped created for Cowboys that we haven't taken players who had even a smidgen of question about them.

If JJ tries bring TO in here & Parcells strongly objects, Parcells could walk in protest and frankly despite some of your wild statements that Parcells is finished I believe it would be disaster for Cowboys to have to bring in another who knows what kind of new HC & begin rebuilding again.

It wouldn't matter what kind of contract JJ gets TO to sign. Once TO signs he's got the power cause JJ would do anything to prevent problems with TO becoming public which would make JJ a laughingstock around the NFL and throughout the country. Also if Bledsoe didn't make enough throws to TO do you think TO would quietly accept that; he didn't in 04 first year with Eagles. Followed McNabb on the sidelines harassing him, etc. TO would end up destroying a young team filled with players who watching what TO getting away with would start copying him. Parcells won't stand to have TO destroy a team he's beginning to build up as long time dominant power in NFL.

Well, I didn't like it when T.O. spiked the ball midfield star, yet, at same time, we all have made mistakes. So, to me, you can't judge a person, or shouldnt. Don't get me wrong, to me T,O is a cancer unless he has grown up, which I dont think he has. Yet, it is the Dallas Cowboys, mainly Jerrry Jones who will decide if T.O comes to dallas or not, not us fans. Agree, that Parcells has to agree some, with Jerry Jones, but at same time, remember Parcells brought in Terry Glenn, Keyshawn, whom were titled problem people. Also, remember that when Jerry Jones first hired Parcells, Parcells wanted a proven QB back then, but we found out later that Jerry Jones wanted Parcells to work with Hutchinson, Carter, Henson, so he didnt go after someone like Jake Plummer, or Delmoune. So, he worked with Jerry Jones.
Next, Parcells wants to win 2-3 supebowls, he knows he only has a few years, maybe 3-5 to coach still before he is too old to coach. Parcells wants to beat Vince Lombardi, how can you do that, by winning 4-5 superbowls. Parcells has won 2 now, so in reality he needs 3 more. To be accepted as greatest head coach of all time.
Parcells, even Eric Allen, great cornerback, whom hates the Dallas Cowboys, that played for the Eagles in late 80's to early 90's, said, Parcells has built a really good defense now this year, and in time, he said most likely next year, it will be a beast. Super Defenses win championships, sure good offense, but great defense too. So, I think Parcells will be open minded about Terrell, some kind of contract, worth a year, with incentives, and penalites, to keep his mouth shut, look at the great coach of New England Patriots, whom took Corey Dillion, he won them a championship. So, I think, Terrell can rebuild his career under a great coach like Parcells, then he can get his money with incentives to like play in playoffs, and super bowl, etc.
Then, you got to remember that Michael Irwin keeps in contact with T.O. and the Dallas Cowboys, so he knows more then we do as fans. So in regards, I think some kind of one year contract with Terrell, maybe until March the following year, so maybe they can trade him after the super bowl, I do think Terrell is a time bomb waiting to go off, history generally speaks, Terrell did it to a pretty good coach in San Francisco, and then to a coach Reid in Philly that I dont like.
So, if it helps up to go to super bowl, build confidence in the young players for a year, then be open minded, but dont give up the store for T.O.

I say bring Terrell Owens in. I was against it early on. But now? What the heck. He would be an instant threat and a legitimate contender.

I don't know...they HAVE to trade him by March to avoid paying his bonus or else release him. He isn't happy with his contract, so a trade would have to involve a restructured deal too. Why would a team make a trade for a guy who will be released. Its no secret that Philly won't keep him after March.

I am fairly certain they can not trade him before having to pay the bonus.

The trade deadline has passed and players can not be traded until the official start of the new 2006 season. I dont think, but dont know for sure, that will be until after TO is due his money.

If so just expect him to be released. No trading,

Don't you think the other 31 teams know that the Eagles will have to release him so they don't have to pay him? They will just wait.

Irvin knows Parcells well enough to know that he's not retiring?

Irvin can convince Parcells of anything, much less that he should hire T.O.?

Could this be "one of the factors" that has Parcells considering retirement? By Jerry forcing his hand and making him accept a player that he supposedly has no interest in and feels is a threat to team chemistry?

Very interesting!

This discussion is an example of how manipulated some people be when Jerry decides to throw out his verbal "winks" --as he likes to refer to them, Jerry wants this discussion.
There is no possibility of TO being signed here because he
1.)already ripped up two teams/QBs moarle and
2.)disrespected the Star --on Jerry Jones watch and ...
3.)what part of the Antonio Bryant story would I have to recite to to indicate Bill's feelings about babying pouting WRs or perhaps just the early handling of Larry Allen's attitude would be instructive. Either way the answer no way.

I honestly don't think that is it at all.

Yeah, I can really see Michael Irvin convincing Parcells to do something completely stupid to the team like that.

TO will not be a cowboy... ever. Time to accept that, people.

I agree with you Rack........ If Irvin had that much pull he'd be working for Jones.... NOT ESPN!!!!

Grasping at straws I tell you!!!!!!

I don't think Jerry was all that upset about the "star incident". Not enough to not sign him all these years later at the right price.

He would let anyone dance on the star if it would get him another superbowl

I wish everyone would stop comparing Keyshawn's situation with TO's.
Keyshawn was never worried about stats. he was more interested in being told the truth. He said Gruden would say one thing and then do another.
He also had no problem with being the low man on the totem pole as long as it was made clear that was his role and he was given a fair shake to be the high man on the totem pole.

TO is about TO, PERIOD.

If the ball isn't coming Keyshawn's way, you're not going to hear him moaning and complaining to the press or badmouthing Bledsoe.

If it's not coming to TO, he'll talk about the quarterback, the quarterback's mama, the quarterback mama's gay brother, the quarterback mama's grandfather who was an Uncle Tom back in the day, etc.

No, I don't want him on the Cowboys.

But if he should become a Cowboy, I will cheer the team on and hope his destructive behavior is kept in check.

And please stop with the "Bill Parcells will keep him in line" fantasies.

If the man won't listen to Jesus even though he compares himself with the Savior (Remember, Jesus said whoever humbles himself shall be exalted and whoever exalts himself shall be humbled), then Bill Parcells aint gonna be able to do that much either.

The change has to come from TO and no one else - divine intervention withstanding.
