Is anyone planning on watching? It is suppose to be the most watched event ever.....

That was not Michael Jackson's memorial, that was the U.S.Media's funeral.

Felt sympathy for the orphaned children, most everything else played out like a red carpet/ political who's who convention.

Alot of people are getting exposure over this, that's for sure!

But, the hour or so that I saw of it, at the beginning, ( had to scoot to work out) the little I saw was pretty cool.

Yeah Al's pretty annoying. I wonder if he has even met Michael Jackson?

I saw a little bit of it at my mother's house. They sent Michael off in style and when you are very famous and have a bunch of famous friends, that is always going to happen.

On another note, I was just reading an article on MSNBC that stated that the City of L.A. (you know the one that is strapped for cash) is going to have to pick up the tab.

what's Brooke Shield's relation to Jacko?

just curious?

Brooke Shields was known for being a very close friend of entertainer Michael Jackson. Shields spoke at the memorial service for Michael Jackson on July 7, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Shields stated in that speech that she first met Michael when she was 13 years old, and the two instantly became friends.[22] In her eulogy speech, she shared a number of anecdotes, including an occasion in which she was his date for one of Elizabeth Taylor's weddings, and the pair snuck into the Taylor's room to get the first look at her dress, only to discover Taylor asleep in the bed. Shields gave a tearful speech, referencing to the many times she and Michael Jackson shared. She also mentioned Jackson’s favorite song Smile (Charlie Chaplin song) by Charlie Chaplin which was later sung in the memorial service.[23]

Well, when you figure that technology has moved forward a bit in more than three decades since Elvis died, you'd think maybe there would be more viewers. Add to that the number of outlets as opposed to just the three broadcast networks at the time and there should be a bunch more seeing it.

I'm proud to say I wasn't one of the ones watching this travesty.

Who was the guy that was singing with Mariah Carey? When I saw him on TV, I thought it was Johnny Gill but my sister said it wasn't him but didn't know who it was.

Trey Lorenz. He sung on the original Mariah Carey version.

He even had a CD. I actually have it.

I need to put down the New Age and Japanese Anime Soundtracks and re-discover K104 and 97.9 :laugh2: .
