If he can help there is no reason why Dallas shouldn't check him out if he is available

Pretty sure Jackie Robinson was "too much of a distraction" for some, but my goodness could he play baseball. Obviously Michael Sam is a bubble guy, but you know what, the Rams' defensive line bubble guys would all be locks to make our squad. We should sign whoever they end up having to cut.

This isn't really a thread about Michael Sam, however I'll start the conversation with him. The Rams have 8 defensive lineman spots sown up and may only keep 9, which means Sam, who had 2 sacks yesterday and 3 in the preseason, might be practice squad material.

Obviously Sam has been more impressive than most of the Dallas defensive line, which is probably from top to bottom the worst in the league right now.

The point here is, however, the Rams are just 1 of 30 other teams with better defensive line talent and there is bound to be some people cut or added to PSquads that are superior to players on Dallas' roster.

The ONLY advantage of being the worst at a position is that you can upgrade with others castaways.

If Dallas doesn't do this, then its inexcusable.

I mean the team is going to be terrible this year either way, but not upgrading this group is unfathomable.

No thank you. No thank you. No thank you.

lol, I can't believe people actually think Sam is going to be cut.

Beyond that, anyone saying no to taking a look at Sam (if he was available) is a ridiculous human being, particularly because their opinion has zilch to do with football.

Please don't compare moral issues with racial ones. Two very different things whether you believe so or not. I happen to believe so (these are two very different issues), I know in advance you won't, so lets just agree to disagree before the argument even begins.

Amazing this is even a discussion. Obviously he would help our team.

What?! What has Michael Sam done that is immoral? Was he involved in a dog fighting ring? Did he drive drunk and kill his teammate? Did he beat someone up? Did he cheat at Words With Friends?

He a football player. He plays a position we are in desperate need of. I supremely doubt he'll be cut. But if he, or any of his d-line cohorts are, we obviously are going to take a look and likely make a play for them.

Ok, i don't see the Michael Sam controversy being on the same level as Chad Johnson, TO, and Pac-Man jones. I actually don't think it's a big deal where others might. Honestly, I could not care less about what the media has to say about it too.

You may not care but these type of distractions hurt a football team. The Cowboys know more than anyone. And alot of their distractions come from within. And yes the Same controversy is just as big as TO, Ocho, etc. Its the same attention and he's in St. Louis. Can you imagine how much it will balloon if he were to come a Cowboy? If I was in his camp I wouldn't even want to come to Dallas. But going by how he and his camp have moved...he seems to like the attention so maybe Dallas is a nice destination for him if he were to get cut.

Just unwanted distractions that are not necessary for a defense that's more than a Michael Sam away from being good.

Being reported he has a torn acl.

That's terrible.
My point was that we could ask way more that that for Weeden in that circumstance, though I can't imagine us wanting to part with him without someone else in mind to backup Tony.

Sam really looks scary coming off of that edge. Very fluid in his ability to hit the corner apex and speed rush the edge. I hadn't seen the swim move or the bull rush yet but 3 sacks in the preseason isn't too shabby at all.

I'm not at all concerned about any distractions. He's a class guy that won't fill the police blotter.

Have you been keeping up with him since being drafted? Its died down some but he was in the media for everything but football and it was all his doing.
