Michael Sam?

if Sam wasn't gay would anyone have noticed that he looks good against guys that will be out of the league next week?

Bring him in. Kid is relentless and has a non-stop motor. The Cowboys will continue to be a media circus regardless if he's here or not.

Have you been keeping up with him since being drafted? Its died down some but he was in the media for everything but football and it was all his doing.

I have no need to keep up with him. He hasn't been on the police blotter so I'm all good.

This isn't really a thread about Michael Sam, however I'll start the conversation with him. The Rams have 8 defensive lineman spots sown up and may only keep 9, which means Sam, who had 2 sacks yesterday and 3 in the preseason, might be practice squad material.

Obviously Sam has been more impressive than most of the Dallas defensive line, which is probably from top to bottom the worst in the league right now.

The point here is, however, the Rams are just 1 of 30 other teams with better defensive line talent and there is bound to be some people cut or added to PSquads that are superior to players on Dallas' roster.

The ONLY advantage of being the worst at a position is that you can upgrade with others castaways.

If Dallas doesn't do this, then its inexcusable.

I mean the team is going to be terrible this year either way,
but not upgrading this group is unfathomable.

Me thinks you need to stick to the 1st overall draft pick plan and NOT upgrade the Dline.

There's no politics involved. The same reason why I wouldn't want Sam is the same reason why I wouldn't want Ocho Cinco, TO or Pac-Man Jones(earlier in his career when we got him). I just want football players. I don't want the circus that comes with them. That's the least thing this team needs.

Hey 2 sacks is 2 sacks. Difference is he goes home after the game and kisses his boyfriend.

What circus? He hasn't been all over the news or sports shows. If he's better than what we have the FO would be dumb not to look IF he gets cut.
I doubt he will.

Have not read anywhere that he's been a distraction. OR that there has been a circus around him.

It's an excuse for people not to want him on this (or any) squad.

Also we are the Dallas Cowboys. When a guy gets approached by a mall cop about his pants it makes national news for weeks.

If a player can help us, then I'm all for signing them. As long as they're not physically harming anyone or doing something detrimental to their team, then I really don't care what they do off the field. At least that's how I feel about it.

Not sure the D-line can be fairly evaluated when the perceived first stringers have yet to play as a unit.

Don't kid yourself. On paper, we need DL help. Paper doesn't always tell the whole story but it starts the conversation.
