Total non-issue. That would be a demotion.

Harbaugh seems destined.

This can't be true. I was told by some very reputable (cough, cough) football guys that he couldn't land a head coaching job anywhere else if not for the benevolence and loyalty of Jerry Jones.

It is posts like these that prevent people from taking you seriously anymore

Give Garrett 2 inexperienced OC and DC and watch the cowboys go back to 8-8

Garrett has done nothing other than football 101, build an OL (some of which was happenstance) and rely on the running game. He also lucked into having a very very good QB to begin with .
Garrett is not a good/great coach, his only redeeming feature has been keeping the joneses from completely messing it up

If Garrett gets another HC job anywhere else we will see the beginning of another 10 year "process" that will culminate in the severe curbing of his powers and the hiring of very experienced OC and DC

It's always interesting seeing reports like this.

I remember only one season ago there were so many "experts" on this board proclaiming that after JG would inevitably get fired after this year he'd be lucky to even be a position coach for a football team. Hmmmmm.

Was the offer made last season ?;) Reward the 8-8 jobs w/a top 5 qb? We have a new RG... Who would've thunk all it took as was a RG to stop JG from running the O in this manner (8-8 and wasting the prime of your QB)? His way has been abandoned this season = wins? Better have a top OC in place too:D Gimme a break.

Not gonna lie, I was thinking the same thing. I mean, I'm not a blame Romo and/or Garrett for everything guy, but it's funny how each seems so hated, until the moment something goes right. If Dallas gets their butts kicked today and next week, I'm wondering how many people will insist he must stay. I suspect the hope would then be fore Garrett to go, and for Harbaugh to lose his mind and come to work for Jerry (will never happen).

True or no, when when you start hearing rumors like this, it is a good sign. It means Jason has gotten someone's attention other than Jerry's.

@Idgit was being tongue-in-cheek, but he is fundamentally correct. The Cowboys took a chance on Garrett when he lacked the requisite experience for the job, and their patience is finally paying off.

JG is only 'hot' right now because of his record this year. No other reason. He has never shown anything to think he is more than an average HC. Frankly never impressed me as a OC either.

Harbaugh is not going to Michigan. To start with that so called $50 million deal was nowhere near that - more like $6 million a year at most ratther then $8 million a year. Then he is still under contract this year to SF and they would need to let him go; they want something for him so they will trade him to the Raiders for whatever they can get.

Not suggesting to get rid of him...but he isn't untouchable

No player or coach is untouchable. Don't get your point. He has done a good job building us into winners though. It is a process and it does take awhile. The whole time we have been competitive. What is crazy that I'm more excited about next year than this year. If we can get some help on defense, we could be an elite team the next couple of years.

I can't see Garrett going anywhere...he is putting his team in place over the last few years, they finally have built one side of the trenches, they are poised to make the playoffs, the OLine is REALLY young and should/could be around for a long time...the Cowboys aren't built to contend this year, they are built to contend for the next 5 years....Garrett will get an extension once we play our last game in February

Wait.....is this one of the media folks that doesn't hate us and is reliable? I've kind of lost track. Or is it that he's said something remotely positive so we take his word as gospel?
