You win as a team and you lose as a team. Ultimately I don't think the right argument is Dak. The real issue is how long can we as fans continue to support a front office that keeps selling us the same repackaged product over and over?

2-5 is 2-5 no matter how you want to look at it....Once again though we sit out free agency, let our mid tier guys walk for comp picks, and plan to give raises to the top of the roster while just crossing our fingers that the same issues that have plagued this team for years now will magically go away. Making it a pro or anti Dak conversation completely deflects from the real conversations that need to be had, and that is that you have an organization that is very comfortable just being in the mix.

I don't agree with Mickey all the time, but it is hard for all but the most elite QB's to overcome a bad Defensive performance in the playoffs. Our Defense has been bad at the most important times, can't overlook that. Folks tend to forget that it was a Dan Quinn team that blew a big lead in a certain Super Bowl (which saw a certainly elite QB make a comeback).

Yup, and some fans believe if the defense gives up a td on the first drive, then that's an insurmountable lead to come back from.
Well, to be fair, it is almost insurmountable if Dak is your QB.

But if you go up 10 on the Cowboys at any point it’s game over. 10 points is the for sure insurmountable line.

It’s a wrap.

Oh, and if we have less than 100 rushing yards. Daks only won like 7 games in his career when the Cowboys don’t get 100 rushing yards.

Mickey shows some good stats and reasoning here.
Dak is 0-3 when the defense gives up 30 or more points. Take a look at some SB winning QB's, and their playoff records when their respective teams have given up 30 or more points.
It's a typical Mick homer piece.

For example, note this last line from him............

do yourself a favor by factoring in the reason for three of those losses.
"The reason" for the GB loss was more than one reason. He totally glosses over the fact that a big factor in the Cowboys being down 27-0 was that Dak was atrocious in the first half. The fact he can't even admit that reality shows he just doing the same thing he's ripping people for just the other way to protect Dak.

He also totally avoids the reality that in two other playoff games the defense played decently and Dak wasn't all that consistent in those games. Funny how that doesn't get mentioned in this puff piece.

Now then, being curious, wonder what other NFL QB records are when having to overcome 30-plus points in a playoff game?
Glad you asked. Here are a few choice ones:
  • Joe Montana: 0-3.
  • Brett Favre: 0-7.
  • Drew Brees: 0-3.
  • Ben Roethlisberger: 0-7.
  • Aaron Rodgers: 1-5, his one beating Dak, 34-31.
  • John Elway: 1-5.
  • Tom Brady: 2-5, his fifth the 31-14 loss to Dak in the 2022 season.
  • Peyton Manning: 2-4.
  • And just for grins, Troy Aikman 0-1, Roger Staubach 0-3

Damn. Interesting….all time greats up there. Never seen anyone take this angle.

You're not wrong, that absolutely happened, but it's always interesting to hear the perspective on that and other games in which we just glamorize the QB and bash the opposing defense. Everyone focuses on how much of a failure it was on the defense but once ATL was up 28-3 their offense went

*3 plays and punt (-15 yards)
*3 plays and turnover (-2 yards)
*6 plays and punt (45 yards)
*4 plays and punt (16 yards)

By the end of the game ATL only had 23 minutes of possession.

IMO the real issue with that game for Atlanta was a complete failure by their offense to sustain a drive to put the game on ice after your defense shut down a top offense for 40 minutes of the game.

Most likely many did not read it, or read that far into it.
