Yup, and some fans believe if the defense gives up a td on the first drive, then that's an insurmountable lead to come back from.
The main problem is that Jerry and Stephen don't know how to run an NFL team properly. Funny how every year, these owners point fingers at the coaches or the players. Who knows. Next year, it
might be the cheerleaders who are at fault,in their minds. This team is ran like a circus carnival and that has been going on for 29 or so years.

..well yah, good point taken. If your defense cant keep them around twenty or so.

Its much harder for offense to score on every drive. The GB was total breakdown on defense.

The offense got them back in the game at 27-10 3rd qtr. But Quinn wanted more style defense.

Cowboys offensive points in the first half in playoff losses

2016 vs Packers - 13 points
2018 vs Rams - 7 points
2021 vs 49ers - 7 points
2022 vs 49ers - 6 points
2023 vs Packers - 7 points

Defensive points allowed in the first half of playoff losses

2016 vs Packers - 21 points
2018 vs Rams - 20 points
2021 vs 49ers - 16 points
2022 vs 49ers - 9 points
2023 vs Packers - 27 points

We can argue offense vs defense all day, but in the end neither side of the football is doing their job in the post season. I'd say the 2016 game was heavily a defensive failure, and the 2022 game was primarily an offensive failure. Outside of that it's really tough to point fingers at the other side as this team has been down and typically by two scores by the half pretty consistently....that takes a total team effort to be this bad in January.

Very misleading article. Just click bait.

So much goes into points ie offensive turnovers, top, offense consistency keeping their defense exhausted, special teams and etc.

But yes in general giving up 30 points is normally going to register as a loss

....your right, same here I'll never understand what his game plan was.

It took me right back to his SB loss to Brady. Up by 24 pts going into 4th qtr.
Yeah and got another head coach gig after that debacle. I remember watching it but even saying it loud doesn’t make sense I would think if you ran the ball every single play you’d win up 24…….hard to fathom. Much less stakes but a couple of years ago think it was Lamb’s rookie year we somehow came back against them.

Now then, being curious, wonder what other NFL QB records are when having to overcome 30-plus points in a playoff game?
Glad you asked. Here are a few choice ones:
  • Joe Montana: 0-3.
  • Brett Favre: 0-7.
  • Drew Brees: 0-3.
  • Ben Roethlisberger: 0-7.
  • Aaron Rodgers: 1-5, his one beating Dak, 34-31.
  • John Elway: 1-5.
  • Tom Brady: 2-5, his fifth the 31-14 loss to Dak in the 2022 season.
  • Peyton Manning: 2-4.
  • And just for grins, Troy Aikman 0-1, Roger Staubach 0-3

Damn. Interesting….all time greats up there. Never seen anyone take this angle.
It’s always cute when Dak fans uses winners to defend Dak being a loser.

It makes zero sense, but cute nonetheless.

Interesting…funny thing is the best team up there are the 49ers and it’s the least amount of points…..
