As to trading down, IMO it will come down to who is available at #10. We can all say that this person will not fall or that person but none of us have a clue as to what SF or Atlanta are going to do first. The chips will start to fall in place then. Any of us can make a case for who we believe will fall and we all can take them apart. Here is what I see which undoubtedly will be different from others. I see the 5 QBs going in the top nine, just to much talk about all of them to not believe teams like Denver, Chicago, WFT, NE, and even Pittsburgh will to go up and get one of them especially if Atlanta shocks everyone and takes a QB instead of trading down.
IMO, Burrows wants Chase, his college WR and believe Cincy will go that way. Same goes for Miami and Smith with Tua being fall more comfortable with Smith than taking Pitts at 6. Detroit could go a number of ways including trading down. Pitts makes sense there but they have a great TE already but have no WR, definitely a dilemma. Carolina could trade down and IMO I would not be the least surprised to see them trade with the LAC to Sewell who protected Herbert in college and would most likely highly overpay to get him. Then Denver is a team that could definitely take the last QB on the board if there or go a number of directions. Slater would make sense so would Parsons from need standpoints but they could easily trade down also and with Philly needs defense and having extra picks, I could see Philly trading up 3 spots and taking Surtain which probably would cause more hatred of Philly in Dallas.
Then Dallas, with possibly Pitts and Horn and Slater and Parsons on the board, you can bet everyone is going to say Pitts but I'm not so sure. What if a team like say the Jets or Jaguars offer their other 1st round pick (23 for Jets, 25 for Jags) plus their 2nd (33 for Jags, 34 for Jets) plus a couple of high picks for the right to take Pitts. Would Dallas even think about it? What would be possible at 23 or 25? Good chance Farley would still be there or Barmore or Moehrig or Phillips. Would they really pass on Pitts?
Pitts appears to be a generational guy but just how many times is he going to touch the ball in a game, 5 maybe 6 or 7. Could be a difference maker but he would have to be. Trading down makes the most sense in that situation IMO. Farley was consider either the top CB or tied for the top with Horn and Surtain before the back surgery but he has been completely cleared. So I would be for the possibility of Farley and possibly getting Barmore at 33 or 34 along with say Jabrill Cox LB at 44 before taking Pitts. Those three should make the defense at least middle of the league or better with giving the offense the ball more often. JMO and one of many ways things could happen on the 29th.
