Mick is usually the 'homer' of all the Cowboys writers, but at the end of this interview he tells it like it is about Roy Williams.

Yeah, he blasted him on talking Cowboys pretty good.

He basically said something like that he wasn't so bothered by the one-on-one matchups because safties get beat in those anyway.

However, when it was a cover-two like scheme, he didn't know his recognitions and wasn't where he was supposed to be. That comes from a lack of preparedness, in which there is no excuse for.

A good friend of mine, Coach Bartel, who is often on my show said Roy would be able to change his '50-50 chances' into at least a 70-30 deal if he would stop trying to look into the backfield all the time.

Hey, if it's insufficient preparedness and not a physical limitation standing in the way of Roy Williams and greatness, that's good news for Cowboys fans, since it's correctible.

He might write a lot of article pro-Cowboys... but he definitely is not a Roy homer. He hasn't had much good to say about Roy in a while.

That's because there hasn't been much good to say about him in a while.

That article by Mick is good though.

famous last words... when players lose a step or skill set they blame it on the mental part of the game!

Roy should be able to read the QBs in our Division like a book... for the most part none of the QBs have the abilty to read and react like a Peyton or Brady!

I'm willing to bet most of the int. thrown by Eli, McD and #17 are picks by the saftey...

Roy has no excuse he just needs to play better...

wow...Mickey is upset at Roy
Thanks, CC. I wasn't sure what the first 13 posts in this thread were in reference to. Now I do.

Mickey has also seemed to be against the Pacman trade.

Is it possible that RW was probably always overrated. He was always known for blowing players up and that's it, and now that he's not doing that anymore, he's average to below average?

That's not all he was known for.

This is partially true in my opinion because he's the same player he was now as then, except for the big hits. It's more like he was overrated then, because of the big hits, and underrated now because everyone thinks he sucks.

That's a very fair take.

That and the fact his rookie season was so outstanding that it set up a very high standard.
