We'll have 500 threads about Wade being gone, may as well sticky the one where Jones says Wade will be the HC next yr. FWST and Matt Mosley both have quotes from Jerry saying Wade will not be fired and he doesnt blame him for this disgrace of a season.

I'm not sure what I think about it. Until those last two awful defensive plays he had fixed the defense, yet we still have way too many penalties and missed tackles. He's the HC, thats on him.

Then there's Romo saying it took them 3 quarters to figure out the Baltimore defense and what player was playing a particular position. What the hell man, was 14 games of tape not enough help? Thats on Wade and Garrett too, as it seems to confirm what I have suspected on Romo now for awhile, that he does a poor job of preparing for games.

Anyway, those looking for a new HC are going to be sorely disappointed it appears.

Well, if true, that's a shame because as a HEAD COACH, WP is not capable of taking this, or any other team to the Super Bowl and winning it.

As a DC, perhaps, but not as a HC....IMO/FWIW.

so now romo prepares poorly?

I wonder if a more prepared quarterback would have had more time, you know like after the ball is snapped you dont have to make ani instant decision on where the ball is going and cant even scan the field because there are free defenders running right at you.

and in my experience as a fan, quarterbacks always do well when the defense drops 6 men in coverage and also has 2 free guys running at the qb.

and Wade Phillips job is not safe, nor is anyone elses. Jerry is disfunctional and will continue to hire and fire as he sees fit.

If he liked continuity he could have kept parcells staff here. Had he hired sporano, we would still have good coaches in Bruce Dehaven, David Lee could have been rehired and the defensive staff was already good.

But nope. Jerry chases cars. I suspect he will chase cars again in a couple of weeks. The new building is opening and after that terrible finish last night the media will just be counting the days till wade is fired anyway. And wade phillips teams always go south after the first year.

And unfortunately since he cleaned out the previous culture of one voice and structure it Really doesnt matter who the head coach is. This is a team with problems at its core and the type of coach that jerry will hire will not fix that. I wouldnt be suprised to see jerry get worse with the meddling after having invested so much in the new stadium.

Good. He doesn't deserve to loose his job. You guys have to remember that you can't make decisions when you're really emotional. You will eventually regret those decisions.

I have never, EVER seen a HC in the NFL with as passive a demeanor as Wade. I don't understand it. A HC is the boss...an authority figure. Drill sergeants don't care if their soldiers like them, they only care that they follow orders. The players don't have to like it they just have to do it! In the military if you blow off orders you go to jail. Seeing as how football is a microcosm of war it's a damn shame that the same rule doesn't apply. All that being said, hey Wade: Get pissed off! I'm tired of seeing that look of "What? What happened? Oh, come on, guys! Jeez..." I want to see some "What the **** are you mother*****rs DOING out there? If you can't run the **** the way it was taught to you then I will ****hammer your sorry ***!"

*sigh* Loving the Cowboys is like loving a Thai chick. You can love the hell out of her but she doesn't always love you back.

Yeah, it was in Mosley's article:

Romo said. "But it took us a good three quarters to understand who was what and what position each individual was playing. I give them credit. They did a good job of keeping us off balance."

I'm going to consider that the much heralded "vote of confidence" until I actually see Wade back as HC in TC next year.

He is a joke because the team had a hard time recognizing who was dropping and who was rushing? Really?

That is interesting as are many things I am reading this morning. This, just like the pittsburgh game was a difficult challenge for the offense.

Jason witten described the ravens defense wednesday as 2 lineman and 7 guys walking around. So with no previous familiarity it was to be expected that the offense would struggle.

And last time I checked The ravens confuse and frustrate nearly every team they play on defense. And in the end we scored more on them than they usually give up.

We missed a few plays early and then in the second half the defense just didnt play well, couple that with an unforgiveable fake fg run and you lose the game.

People calling out romo for a poor first half is fine. Just make sure you understand why he struggled, along with his teammates.

Yeah in his Post Game he was so nonchalant. "It is what it is" I guess as he said last night.

Thank God!

I want nothing more than continuity of our coaching staff.

Teams who are changing head coaches every few years suck for a reason.

People might like to blame Phillips for the loss yesterday. But the question is who don't message board fans blame when we lose. Of course Phillips is going to get blamed by us. Reality is, Phillips did not miss the two tackles that needed to be made on those two 75+ yard runs. That's the bottom line.

People are also blowing yesterday's loss out of proportion. We weren't "out coached." We were in the game the entire game. Now, do I disagree with a few calls here and there (namely, some draws in non-draw situations), heck yes! Does that mean the entire coaching staff should be fired. ABSOLUTELY NOT! First of all, we're not eliminated from the playoffs yet, and not much has to happen for us to be back in. Second of all, Phillips is 22-10...

So, I for one am glad Phillips is staying. And I'm glad Jerry made it a point to do this. Smart move.

Jerry says A LOT of things that he never means. I'm sure we could all start giving examples but do we need to?

Well I don't think you need to emulate a drill sergeant but as far as leadership goes it is always better to be "right" rather than "liked". Similarly nothing earns confidence more than competence.

I think its an issue yeah. You can see he makes the same mistakes over and over again.

I wonder if a more prepared quarterback would have had more time, you know like after the ball is snapped you dont have to make ani instant decision on where the ball is going and cant even scan the field because there are free defenders running right at you.

They got some pressure on him, but it wasnt like it was a jail break every down either. Alot of plays he had plenty of time and threw bad balls or threw to the wrong guy.

and in my experience as a fan, quarterbacks always do well when the defense drops 6 men in coverage and also has 2 free guys running at the qb.

they rarely had two free guys running at the QB

and Wade Phillips job is not safe, nor is anyone elses. Jerry is disfunctional and will continue to hire and fire as he sees fit.

Jones says Wade isnt going anywhere. Plenty of quotes to see from last night about it. Doesnt sound like its something he is even remotely considering.

If he liked continuity he could have kept parcells staff here. Had he hired sporano, we would still have good coaches in Bruce Dehaven, David Lee could have been rehired and the defensive staff was already good.

Lets see what Sparano does in the next season or two before crowning him the next Lombardi or Landry. And no, I dont think the prior defensive staff was "good"

But nope. Jerry chases cars. I suspect he will chase cars again in a couple of weeks. The new building is opening and after that terrible finish last night the media will just be counting the days till wade is fired anyway. And wade phillips teams always go south after the first year.

like I said, he says he isnt firing him.

So you want some accountability basically. But umm didn't we just have a coach like that? Have you all forgot that we had a coach that would give you the look of death here for four yrs and the results were worst than this? It's 2 constants from the two eras. The GM & the "STUPID" players.

Honestly, if he said this immediately after a disappointing loss, I would think Wade would continue to be our coach in the future. That shows that our owner and GM has the critical thinking skills to not jump the gun.

There must be some kind of fundamental flaw in this guy. Like I referenced in my previous post, I just don't think he drops the hammer on players enough. I mean the give-you-a-hug-and-encourage-you act only goes so far.

We need a guy like...hmmm...John McLane from 'Die Hard' (if he coached football). We don't need Santa Claus on the sideline wearing the headset.

well continuity is what will ultimately win. But continuity got flushed down the toilet when wade phillips was hired.

and it is nearly impossible to say a coach or group of coaches got "outcoached" as a fan.

But having said that, cam camerons offense in miami last year, which is inferior to this baltimore offense played well against our defense last year. Last year green threw bad interceptions and that was the difference.

miami had 21 first downs, 334 yds of offense and were 6/12 on third down. So cam cameron knew what he was doing last night and he knew how to beat wade phillips and did.

I only need to look at his track record HERE. And he has a winning percentage. A much higher winning percentage than the drill Sargent head coach we had before him.
