So you want some accountability basically. But umm didn't we just have a coach like that? Have you all forgot that we had a coach that would give you the look of death here for four yrs and the results were worst than this? It's 2 constants from the two eras. The GM & the "STUPID" players.

Ahhh, but see once you show you get it the mean old drill sergeants back off and only yell at you if you screw up. We have had two extremes here in Dallas. Parcells was NEVER happy or satisfied and Wade is NEVER pissed off/upset. We need a good balance. (Cowher?)

I only need to look at his track record HERE. And he has a winning percentage. A much higher winning percentage than the drill Sargent head coach we had before him.

And like every other team he has been HC of that will continue to drop.
It's the way it is with him.

We'll have 500 threads about Wade being gone, may as well sticky the one where Jones says Wade will be the HC next yr. FWST and Matt Mosley both have quotes from Jerry saying Wade will not be fired and he doesnt blame him for this disgrace of a season.

I'm not sure what I think about it. Until those last two awful defensive plays he had fixed the defense, yet we still have way too many penalties and missed tackles. He's the HC, thats on him.

Then there's Romo saying it took them 3 quarters to figure out the Baltimore defense and what player was playing a particular position. What the hell man, was 14 games of tape not enough help? Thats on Wade and Garrett too, as it seems to confirm what I have suspected on Romo now for awhile, that he does a poor job of preparing for games.

Anyway, those looking for a new HC are going to be sorely disappointed it appears.

I would think this falls more on Garrett's shoulders than Romo's or Wade's. It is impossible for me to believe with the tallent on offense that another offensive coordinator would not be killin the league. Seriously, I asked a friend last night while watching the game what if NE had Owens, RW, Witten, Crayton, Bennett, even Choice what would NE do? Garrett has turned into a joke. You are telling me that RW couldn't position himself to catch a 8 yard slant if called? B/S MAN.

Ok, I understand that. And the man Cowher is not what this teams needs. He's done. Honestly, if Wade could be demoted to DC I would be extremely happy. But I'm against the revolving door of coaches here.

Bleu Star is right: you guys need to step off the ledge and seek clarity. He just gave Wade the immortal "vote of confidence" i.e.-the kiss of death for a head coach. Philly rolls us next week; we finish 9-7 and he's gone. Just as well. It HAS been a revolving door WG: I'll give you that. But when you KNOW he's not the right guy: and even JJ knows that deep down, you don't keep him another year for the purpose of "stability." This is the NFL: I don't like to EVER quote Jerry Glanville but he was right years ago when he said: "That stands for Not For Long"

Well if that's what it takes. Later Wade

Great news!

Wade is definitely the long term coach of the future here - think Tom Landry. The smarts & discipline Wade instills into players cannot be underestimated.

Jason is also the smartest guy in the NFL - just ask Jerry & Wade! He also was a backup QB! so he realizes how important backup QB is as a position. He also brought in savvy veteran Brad Johnson.

Wade also assembled the best special teams group in the league. Our ST is so well coached you can see how they give us a boost & chance every time we punt or KO.

Great job Jerry!

everyone is against the revolving door of coaches, It is a terrible philosophy.

However, wade phillips is in no way a long term solution and the team will erode more under him.

Then on the flip side, a new coach will need to make personell changes if he is any good. And with all the contracts in place a new coach wouldnt be able to make those changes. Then you throw in the fact that you would be asking the same group of guys to now believe in their 3rd new philosophy and style and to me that is a bad idea and a recipe for failure.

Its a jam. And jerry created it by not sticking with what he had in house and keeping the continuity of the previous staffs structure and style. But of course Jerry would never keep people around who question his players and like to keep a lid on the organizations happenings. Jerry doesnt want to sacrifice the fame and celebrity of the organization for the better cause of the football team.

SO knowing that we will either get a misplaced wade phillips again next year or a new version of wade phillips. Either way, if the structure is the same not much will change. IN two years the same people who blamed parcells for everything, currently blaming phillips will eventually blame the new guy.

And, most importantly to me. Romo, ware, james, gurode, davis, witten, barber, crayton, newman the core of this team, are all in their prime. IF jerry botches another hire, he may blow this whole era of football here.

There is no right answer. Only more bad decisions.

Well, if true, that's a shame because as a HEAD COACH, WP is not capable of taking this, or any other team to the Super Bowl and winning it.

As a DC, perhaps, but not as a HC....IMO/FWIW.

Yeah I would have to agree...

One of two things with JJ: A) he's totally lost it Al Davis style B) He's just saying this about Wade to take pressure off his fat joke of a coach and underachieving team. I'm hoping for the latter but fearing the former...........

All I need to know about Garrett is Ray Lewis said OUTLOUD earlier in the week that DALLAS' offense was EASY to figure out. That, to me, says it all!

I dont know about Wade....

But our assistants need to do a better job.

Remember the days of Shula as our OC......Jimmy Genius got him....players got rid of him.

I dont know about Garrett and Houck....our offense is too vanilla. We havent made any adjustments what so ever on the cover 2.

With all these weapons....u would think if they doubled Owens all the time....and keyed on Witten.....u would think Garrett would draw some plays to Bennett and the other 3 WR's (Williams,Crayton,Austin)

Concerning Houck.....this OL is too talented to play this stupid and not dominate. The run blocking and pass protection has regressed.

Is it the players? I dont know....we have been a dumb team for awhile now....even when Parcells was here.

But damn....takes our offense 3 qts to figure out who is a LB and who is a DL...????? You got to be kiddin me.

Btw....If Quincy Carter said "its is what it is" and "that int was just like a punt" he would of got roasted.

Romo needs to make better decisions.....and IMHO take this game more seriously.....

thats just alot of b/s

we had an even easier scheme to figure out from 91-95, the difference was those players worked their arses off in practice and executed to near perfection over and over and over. You didnt see guys blow blocking assignments, run wrong routes, drop balls over and over, missing wide open receivers over and over, misread defenses etc etc

so was norv turners.

We only used 3 running plays essentially in route to back to back superbowls and 6 straight years of making the playoffs.

Whats your point? The offense has to be more difficult in creation, implentation and schematics to be more effective?

Point is that, not me, but John Madden said last night during the game that the Raven corners were "running DALLAS' routs" because they were so predictable. That, combined with what Lewis says, and it makes me believe that we are predictible on offense. You don't think that is a problem friend. THAT IS MY POINT.

well continuity is what will ultimately win. But continuity got flushed down the toilet when wade phillips was hired.

What do you mean continuity got flushed down the toilet when Phillips was hired? He's been here for two years so far, and it's obviously going to be three, according to Jerry.

Honestly, I wish fans didn't dislike him so much, but I also would much rather keep an unpopular coach who is good (and who has been here for two years) than just get a new one for the sake of having a new one.

Jerry isn't about to sell Wade down the river with the possibility of the playoffs still looming.

Put it this way: at the same point of the 2002 season, Dallas bumbling along at 5-10, Jerry told us all Dave Campo's job was safe. The next week, Jones is holding "secret" meetings on a runway with Bill Parcells.

Par for the course.
