Mike Bascik Spills Some Tea on Dak Situation

Let me say that I heard this this morning.....and Basick was contradicting himself. He gave Dak 10-20% of not getting signed....which seems like small odds to me but oh well....he gave him 10-20% of not getting signed but said there's major concern about a injury that only 1 percent of the people know about. So if that's the case...why wouldn't his odds be at least 50/50?

Basick is doing his usually click bait shtick.
That 10-20%was for him to never play football again.

1. Dak is a pocket QB who also has the ability to run but make no mistake. He is a pocket passing QB.

2. We will see. Again I don’t buy the 20% number. Concern due to a major injury? Sure.

20% chance of never playing again? ****

if it’s 30% chance he won’t be where he was before are you giving him 175 million guaranteed and tying the future of your franchise to him?

Are you sure? I thought he said 10-20% he wouldn't be ready by the beginning of the season...he worded it very carefully....his injury wasn't career ending so if he said that......he's really going full schtick. But I thought he said he 10-20% he wouldn't be ready.

I miss the days when we had a durable quarterback like Romo.

Sounds like a leak from management.

I don't put a lot of stock into it.
I do. I’m betting we now take a QB at 10 or maybe even try to go a little higher. Draft will tell us all we need to know. No QB, Dak will play for us. We take a QB, he’s done in Dallas - ESPECIALLY if he and his agent keep jerking the Jones boys around.

this is silly. Every report has been that he is ahead of schedule.

I've also read that he;s already out of the boot.

There is always a chance that when you have an injury that you might not be able to function like you did before. I broke, dislocated, and smashed every bone in my wrist and hand. I had a cast on it from my knuckles all the way up to my shoulder for 3 months. The doctor told me I might not be able to straight my arm all the way. I didn’t have the doctors like Dak but fortunately I was fine. Hopefully he will be too.

So in other words there is an 80% - 90% chance Dak will play football again. Is Dak done with his rehabilitation and conditioning? No! He could very well be 100 % at the onset of preseason. And this Cowboys medical staff can resurrect players from the dead.

If I’m making that decision. I am making that decision off what Dak’s world renowned foot and ankle specialist is telling me.

not what Mike Bacsik on the radio is telling me.

It all depends on what Dak’s highly paid, expert doctors are telling them.

Anyone hear Cross Talk between Shan & RJ and the K&C Masterpiece this morning on the Fan? Mike Bascik flew off the rails on the Dak contract discussion and made some seriously bold claims.

He said he wasn't allowed to divulge the fine details, but mentioned that Dak is dealing with more than simply a broken ankle and these next 5 to 6 months are absolutely critical for rehab and basically determining if Dak can play football ever again. Mike said that there is a real "20 percent chance" that Dak never plays football again. Mentioned that the Cowboys are aware of the issue that he knows about, and said that it looks like almost an impossibility that the Cowboys fork over 170+ million dollars to a QB that's dealing with what Dak is dealing with. Also mentioned that releasing him after June with a franchise tag is also a realistic possibility.

I'm not strongly for or against Dak being signed here long term, but this certainly ignites some serious discussion. And for the clowns on this forum that will immediately dismiss this as fake news, Bascik is extremely plugged into the network in the Metroplex and also has numerous connections in the local medical network, since he himself is married to a physician. He was dropping hints of Dak having a second surgery over a month before national media got a hold of that story.

This is a crazy development.
I believe it. Jeff C has been saying interesting takes too. Wont matter to those that is want to bash the Cowboys over this contract negotiation though

The guys at the Fan aren't saying it's all doom and gloom and all of them are actually pulling for Dak. Jeff Cavanaugh is one of the biggest Dak Stans ever. They're just telling you that things aren't going as good as his camp and the Cowboys are telling you.

He said 10-20% he doesn't play next season, not ever...
Yeah that's what's being misunderstood here. Which even makes me think if the odds are that small....I don't see why he or anyone would be that nervous. Shouldn't the odds be 50/50 at least?

Relax..

He’s relaying info that he deems as reliable and evidently the Cowboys do as well if they already know what he’s talking about.

Sorry it wasn’t from the exact source you would like.. The guy doing the surgery or whatever.

They aren't telling anybody anything. They are making things up.
