Sounds like total bull and Mike Bascik - whoever that is - is just trying to get clicks.

I don't know why people hang on this stuff as if there's any truth to it. This is entirely the opposite of every other repor.t
Exactly how I felt. This is going to blow up. Cowboys and dak will come out with something proving he’s fine and then they’ll make mike look dumb and his “source” even dumber

Anyone hear Cross Talk between Shan & RJ and the K&C Masterpiece this morning on the Fan? Mike Bascik flew off the rails on the Dak contract discussion and made some seriously bold claims.

He said he wasn't allowed to divulge the fine details, but mentioned that Dak is dealing with more than simply a broken ankle and these next 5 to 6 months are absolutely critical for rehab and basically determining if Dak can play football ever again. Mike said that there is a real "20 percent chance" that Dak never plays football again. Mentioned that the Cowboys are aware of the issue that he knows about, and said that it looks like almost an impossibility that the Cowboys fork over 170+ million dollars to a QB that's dealing with what Dak is dealing with. Also mentioned that releasing him after June with a franchise tag is also a realistic possibility.

I'm not strongly for or against Dak being signed here long term, but this certainly ignites some serious discussion. And for the clowns on this forum that will immediately dismiss this as fake news, Bascik is extremely plugged into the network in the Metroplex and also has numerous connections in the local medical network, since he himself is married to a physician. He was dropping hints of Dak having a second surgery over a month before national media got a hold of that story.

This is a crazy development.
i thought dallas put the last offer back on the table? if so, then they feel dak will come back fine.

media promoting bullshyte. who'd ever suspect it?

Or he's going to get tagged, start the season and fail to wrack up the stats as the offensive line with Tyron Smiths back isn't going to hold up and we all know how Dak needs everything perfect. We will also be playing a few teams that have been defenses next season. I guarantee that they lose every single one of those games.

We will almost surely find out in April.

At this point, nothing about Dak would surprise me any more. I'm just tired of all the Dak drama.

Other then a few hard cores on each side most of us are sick of the Dak drama. Sadly, it won’t end. If we sign Dak, the threads will lambast him for every bad throw. If we cut / trade Dak, the threads lambasting the new QB or saying how much better Dak was will continue.

Really, the problems are much deeper with this team, so people argue over these issues.

Let me say that I heard this this morning.....and Basick was contradicting himself. He gave Dak 10-20% of not getting signed....which seems like small odds to me but oh well....he gave him 10-20% of not getting signed but said there's major concern about a injury that only 1 percent of the people know about. So if that's the case...why wouldn't his odds be at least 50/50?

Basick is doing his usually click bait shtick.

This is what Jerry loves though. Jerry knows whether to not he will sign Dak long term or not. He knows this right now. But if he makes that decision the Cowboys have no chance of headlining headlines.

Considering there are people here who thinks he is better than Brady and Mahomes - I'd venture to say there are people who are deluded enough to think that Dak is a HOF QB.
There aren't "people" here that think that there are trolls here who do that just to rile the fanbase up. You are able to decipher when someone is being serious and when someone isn't....and saying Dak is a HOF QB is not a serious post.

I do not see him as a pocket passer in the style of Brady. He moves and throws well on the run to either side. He might prefer to be a pocket passer but with that OL, mobility is necessary.

I don't know where the 20% even comes from or who established that.

I file this under the "Everybody's gotta have a Prescott story".

If this whole Prescott saga was a Netflix one, it would have been cancelled by now. I am growing weary of the must cover crap going on about this.

I’m not saying he is as good as Brady.

what I’m saying is. He is a pass first QB.

He doesn’t need to be Usain bolt to move side to side and around in the pocket.

so even if the ankle is only 90% this season. How much does it affect his play?

I don’t know I’m not a doctor.

I honestly don't see it either. He doesn't rely on his legs. I've seen nothing to suggest that he can't even be mobile in pocket due to this injury. But everyone's a doctor I guess.....

20% seems high.

I will say this. Bacsik, a former Major League pitcher, has some pretty good ties to the sports surgical and rehab community here. He maybe even had the same surgeon and rehab team for all we know.

But 20%?
Come on

Then again, if it never happens, he can be truthful in saying it was 80% chance he does play.
He said 10-20% he doesn't play next season, not ever...
