Yeah he did say that and I just disagree. I think it's nonsense considering Romo's been in the line of fire alot longer than Miles.

I didn't hear that sentence in context but just from the wording I would take that to mean that as Romo develops, so will Austin since they both will be the focal point from this point forward through the rest of the season.

Mike's quote was accurate.

I still maintain that it's not about Romo's development. It's about Miles' development which I applaud. I want to see more of it.

However, Romo's development as a passer is about the same as it's always been. He's not throwing INTs and he's protecting the ball better. That has nothing to do with Miles.

True, on the TD pass Romo threw when forced to scramble I notice he has 2 hands on the ball and was still able to escape and then find Crayton in the endzone.

Exactly, and it's not like he is only throwing it to Miles, although Miles is clearly his number 1 WR option right now. At one point yesterday, he completed passes to seven different receivers. Seven. If Brady did that, they would be saying that it shows what a great QB Brady is. Don't get me wrong, I love Austin and he is no fluke. All you have to do is watch him run routes, make cuts, catch the ball, and break tackles. That is no fluke. He is finally healthy and finally getting his shot. But Romo is more the reason for Austin's success than Austin is for Romo, though it has made a difference. You could probably had a similar conversation about Aikman and Irvin.....which is good.

I loved Aikamn's story about looking for Michael in the huddle...if he wasn't there, he told him he needed to work on his endurance, lol.

Romo had a fine game, but he's also had a clunker or two this season too.

I can understand how some are skeptical. Romo hasn't been the model of consistency. I'm hopeful that he's back in the groove to stay, but he's got to do this week in and week out before some people will believe in him.

When Tony Romo plays at a high level, we don't need a #1 receiver.

Tony Romo is capable of getting everyone involved in the Offense and making plays, much like he did on the goal line.

People laugh at the term "Romo friendly offense" but I really believe what we saw yesterday was a Romo friendly offense.

Tony Romo is in complete command of the huddle, free to throw the ball to the receiver who is open and doesn't have to be criticized when some of the big money players who didn't have big games statistically.

Drew Brees does the same thing. Every once in a while he tosses an absolute clunker, like he did yesterday.

Every elite QB does. I don't understand why Romo's lows are exaggerated and other QBs are minimized.

Chris Carter on Mike & Mike:

Im impressed with Tony Romo but I think when you talk about his development, you have to talk about Miles Austin's development as well

Dallas now has #1 wide receiver

It is different when you have a guy that makes plays outside hash mark

Ray Sherman has to get alot of the credit. He coached me, Jerry Rice and a lot of great receivers in the NFL

You have to talk about Tony Romo and Miles Austin together when you talk about their development

which one?

Ditka also complimented Miles Austin on the way that he carries himself.

You mean Ditka is not pissed that Miles smiles all the time?

it's annoying as hell and the slow-mo close-up of his ghastly smile pretty much proved that he's the Second Coming of "Sloth" from The Goonies.

not sure where you thought anyone was "pissed" about it so I'll just assume that reading comprehension isn't one of your strong suits.

When Romo is on and making plays we're going to be a very tough offense to slow down. he won't get any credit, unless it's negative, by a lot of people but Romo is a dang good quarterback and football player. I'm thrilled to have him.

Thing is Romo play goes hand in hand with those around him as it does for Manning, Brees and Brady. When you are picking up the blitzes these QB's can burn you yet when you fail to pick up the rushers all of these QB's are subject to making mistakes which is why every single DC out there is looking to get pressure on the QB. Most around here loved Aikman and how he played big in big games but go back and watch the big games and see how the linemen around him would give him a clean pocket to work in.

Mike Golic half-***** gave love to the Cowboys after the win.

Said it was an impressive win and Romo played like people thinks he should, but is inconsistent.

For some reason had to point out how well Atlanta played in the first series.

Remember how he claimed Atlanta was the better team and they'd go into Texas and show it?

Yeah. He's like a lot of people... Oh, maybe around here. ;)

Trent Dilfer gave some love to the Cowboys last night during the 11PM Sportscenter. Said that the media is quick to jump on the Cowboys when they lose but never give credit when they play well. Said that he was going to change that and praised every aspect of the team. I was very impressed.

This morning on Cowherd he said he saw a difference in our sideline, that we were carrying ourselves more like the perennially good "classy" teams in the league such as the Giants and Patriots that are even-keeled and businesslike, and less emotionally up and down.

I have no idea if that's right... He could've just been talking out his behind because I didn't notice anything like that. Kind of an interesting angle, though.

oh really? I wasn't sure because I saw Miles Austin smiling non-stop as if this was his first time holding a freakin football or seeing his favorite football stars play...

So has every QB in the league.

Expecting any QB to show up every single Sunday and be perfect is ridiculous. Tony's bad days just seem to be magnified to epic proportions, because when it happens we invariably lose.

Roesthlisberger played like garbage most of the game yesterday and his defense bailed him out. When is the last time our D took over a game and won it when the offense was struggling?

Gee, I wonder what that reason was ?

Oh yea, it was because his fat *** said that Atlanta was going to show Dallas what real football team looks like.

:laugh2:

That sounds like a man who's financially set for life. Must have been smart with his money.:)

You can tell he's a Romo fan to some extent. Or at least an admirer of his game.
