Mike Fisher: Source Reveal number one reason our head coach was hired!

I’m not blaming “talking” Reid. I’m blaming the self proclaimed guy in charge of everything from jocks to socks who talks too much and has produced 5 wild card playoff wins in 29 years. That’s pathetic.

By his own design Jerry is responsible for everything but is never held accountable for anything. That right there is the real cancer here. If there is no accountability at the top, it exists no where else. This organization is so screwed up we could be gifted Patrick Mahomes and still couldn’t win a SB.

Come on man…you know who the problem is. You are too smart not to.
Accountability....wth does that actually mean? I love it when someone in the public eye screws up and they hold a press conference, and they tell the world, "I take full responsibility fo rmy actions." Uhm, ok, what does that mean. You own up to the fact you screwed up? It doesnt actually mean anything happens to the person.

So is taking accountability just mean firing someone? Again, I see 20% of coaches and GMs getting replaced every year. Ok, big deal.... until they get the qb in place, ALA the Washington commanders, NOTHING changes with new coaches and GMs. I know it would make all of you feel better, but we have had the talent on more than 1 occasion, and the players blew it, not Jerry.

The problem with Brian Schottenheimer as head coach has nothing to do with his abilities as a HC to address the deep and lingering culture issues that have plagued this team for a long time.

THE problem is having an owner who refuses to recognize HE IS THE PROBLEM. Jerry could have hired the ghost of Vince Lombardi to coach this team and inspire the players to focus 100% on winning. It wouldn’t matter. Because Jerry is the problem and he is not focused 100% on winning.

If Jerry truly loved and respected the wonderful history, reputation and fan base of America’s Team, he would have stepped aside a long time ago. Anyone can now see HE is the problem.

Until Jerry is no longer in charge, I do not expect major improvements on the field. It doesn’t matter who coaches. Because until Jerry Jones is gone, the HC will always be a pawn and a figurehead.
Bob you are absolutely correct! Jerry is the common denominator and has been the last 30 years!

It's so rare that SB winners grace the locker room of the Dallas Cowboys. How many ex-Patriots, ex-Chiefs, ex-Eagles, or even ex-Rams grace the locker room in Arlington? Not many. Why? Because they have been in places where the organization is run the right way and may actually influence the culture in a manner that Jerry and Stephen are not ok with.

Don't buy the culture change nonsense. What they don't want are vets that have seen how winners FO work because the Dallas build through the draft and re-sign your own model could get tainted. Most star Cowboys players have no clue what it is to play elsewhere. Hearing from Stephon Gilmore is definitely not what the Cowboys want Diggs, Parsons, DLaw, Osa, Prescott, Lamb, etc. hearing. It could taint how they view things. Normal won't be normal anymore.

So, you don't go after winners regularly. You sign FAs that have pedigree from franchises that don't win or don't players that don't produce on winning teams.

Sad but...it is the way of the Jones Boys, folks.

Do you think you could trade them for high draft capital?
yes. get rid still stands...trade micah, although being in the last year of his contract trade value has dropped a bit....
and trade Diggs for whatever we can get. 3rd or 2nd at most, but given injury I doubt if that high

I think having seven different head coaches since Jimmy/Barry and no championship game appearances since then shows us that. Can't blame the coach or the players when that aspect of the team has changed several times over. The one consistency throughout it all is the front office.

Yes, it is the same front office that won with Johnson as coach and capitalized on the success it had build after Switzer took over as coach, but the results since then show us that was an aberration, that their were factors that existed then that have not been replicated since then.
Jimmy chose his staff, Jimmy choses his players. And, Jerry has been on a mission every since to prove to the world he is just as capable

Is it really about culture if the Cowboys tried to get McCarthy back, but they just couldn’t agree on the length of the contract? Sounds like weak sauce. He was cheap and available with a degree of familiarity.

McVay Shanahan heck Siriani Kingsbury Johnson in Chicago all had to have a team take a chance with them and elevate them from OC to HC status. I like the hire , way better then the retread route because a guy was in the SB 14 yrs ago as coach . Never liked the previous hire .

..welp, its worth grain of salt, but in good way. Lets see what he brings in 25'.

Will know by first eight games.

I am coming off a bad case of the flu so I may appear more ornery than usual, but I have 0 tolerance for this kind of BS reporting from Fish or anyone else. Culture is yesterday's news. When he had a good roster and we were losing and we should have won, that was culture. Now we are losing because we're just a bad football team. At this point culture isn't game. We need upgrades all over the field. And it would help helpful if our starting QB didn't look like a selfish, greedy, overrated hot dog.

It is too late for a culture change in Dallas - not that the HC has any chance to change the culture.

If they want to change the culture, the first thing they should have done was say not to Dak's ridiculous demand to be paid $60 million when he isn't even in the top 5 of QB. If they want to change the culture today, then encourage their QB show show some team spirit and give back some of the money he took from a man whose incompetence is growing daily now. It is embarrassing for the team that all the top QBs in the league have been paid and none of them took or demanded what Dak did. There is your culture right there. We got the greedy pig while other teams got QB who wanted to get paid, but also want to win.
