We have a GM. We don't have a cap specialist. Roseman of the Eagles is both. He's probably better at managing the cap then GM of the team though. That's the prevailing opinion with their fan base.

The cap isn't rocket science. They just don't know what they're doing.I'm sure the person who does the cap for them advises them on the smart thing to do, but the oil man and engineering major don't know what they're doing.

Before the 2019 season actually. He had 1 year left on that deal. He went to the playoffs the first two years of the three years. It would have been around 33 million to pay him. It was a colossal mistake to wait after the 2019 season and they are paying for it.

They are not that dumb. This is their strategy. They are playing money ball in the NFL when it comes to free agency.

Unless I'm mistaken they couldn't. Players can't redo their contracts with less than three years of service. So 2016, 2017 and then 2018.

If contract negotiations should be based on stats and what a "great" regular season he had, then Jones / Dallas is signing up for failure and another waste of Millions of Dollars.

Funny how the regular season success is not considered on the contract for the HC (MM). Both, HC and QB had winning seasons all past 3 years or in Florio's words both had "Great seasons" .... so... better get them signed now because they could put another "great season"?

Why do i feel like our GMs still run the salary cap like its 2000? Between this video and the other Twitter threads showing what they could do with other contracts, almost feels like they dont have a clue how to manage salaries.

If dak is squeezing Jerry like the first time after his playoff performance, Dallas is playing it perfect. Don't do anything. I'd even consider playing Lance. Worst mistake which we saw first time is he squeezes us for all he can and doesn't deliver in the playoffs again. Florio says dak had a great year but ignores playoffs.

Deer in headlights during playoffs but stone cold killer when contract is up....

Doesn't matter if in the end he's just going to cave in anyways, just playing tough for the sake of it

The important point regarding Dak's contract is the damage has already been done (to the cap). It doesn't matter if Dallas cuts Dak, lets him play out his deal, restructures, or signs him to a new contract. The past contract will haunt Dallas.
