He has a nice sideline catch. But I thought he should have at least dove for the deep ball. Also he dropped what appeared to be a easy pass. We need to see more from him before any real judgment can be made.

Yeah, and TO should have dove for that one in the endzone also.

what gave you the Idea that Lowber could be a KR. We don't need a KR return we have Felix Jones and Pacman Jones.

Guess you didn't get the memo. Wade said "NO" to both Felix AND Pacman for KR.

He displayed good hands that night. Yea the ball got into his chest on one play but he respond very well on the next play.

"Good" does not equal "exemplary", don't take my word for it, check your dictionary. And he missed on more than ONE pass the other night. Both need a good deal more polish right now. Jefferson may be a good 3 or 4 one day, but Lowber has more upside, w/his speed he could be at least a 2 one day.

Opponents might have to keep up with Joneses on kick returns

Wade Phillips would rather not put Felix Jones or Adam "Pacman" Jones in the line of fire as kickoff returners, but the Cowboys' options are limited.

Miles Austin is out for at least a couple regular season games. Phillips doesn't expect Isaiah Stanback back for the opener, and there's a chance the second-year player will spend the season on injured reserve.

So the coaches are considering using Felix or Pacman, who are the team's most dynamic return men, on kick returns.

"We've got to consider it now," Phillips said. "It's a different set of circumstances."

Amendola and Mike will both be given a load of time to try and make one final push for the final roster. They're both going to need to really step it up and show out so that one of them can possibly make the team.

They need to put Scandrick and Amendola on KOs this week for the entire game. If they have a good showing, then save the front liners.

Also, last week on a KO late in the 4th quarter, Amendola had a good seal block to the right of Scandrick's return. Even though Scandrick only made a few more yards. Point is little Amendola stuck his head into the mix.

I don't doubt the effort is there.

I just wonder how many hits Amendola's body can take at this point.

I've no idea. Some hulks can't stay healthy four weeks in a row and some runts turn out to be made of steel.

When Jefferson's name first appeared in the OTAs, I checked out his numbers & his speed wasn't much better then Crayton or Hurd. So I assume he's just another possible possession WR & not the threat we really need/get from Austin or even Stanback--if Stanback could stay healthy.

What's it going to be then, eh?

So we can start at the 15 yard line every time? No thank you.

There is something to saving the talent but not at the expense of poor play on special teams. We have enough of a challenge on that unit as it is.

So he was a speed bump. Wait until he tries that in regular duty. Little Rudy would get steamrolled. Only this time, he would not keep getting up.

I don't think of Mike Jefferson as a speedy receiver, but getting open is less about pure speed than it is quickness, release, coming out of your breaks, etc.

Michael Irvin was slow as molasses and he could get deep on any corner in the NFL because he did so many other things well. Irvs just couldn't outrun anyone to the end zone after making the catch.

The coaches seem to like Jeffy, but he's in a tussle to make the roster. And whoever does may not be there long depending on how Austin and Stanback recovery from their injuries.

If I'm not mistaken, Amendola had a KO return last or this week to about the 30 yard line (?). Point is, maybe him or Scandrick can show something. It's the last preseason game, what's the difference of the starting field position when trying to find a potential KO returner candidate for an obvious weak spot on our team. Isn't that what the preseason is for, Evaluation.

Hey the kid held his own, I'm pointing out the effort is there. If that's what it takes for him to make the team. I'm not saying use him as a wedge buster.

KR shouldn't be a weak spot we have the personnel Wade just refuses to put the jones boys back there.

If we can find a potential replacement on our roster now to do KOs, then we don't have to risk the front liners. It's a long season so depth at all positions (KO returner) would be nice.

Amendola is a 4.7 undersized WR lacking NFL strength. That would be insane to dress him for a NFL game to KR.

Felix Jones has played his way on down to Kick returns.

Pac is our Punt Returner -
