Mike Jenkins leaving the field on a cart *ankle injury, severity not known*

They probably put him on the cart so he wouldn't further damage anything by limping. It might just be a sprain.

Lets hope it isn't serious

If anything happens to any of our corners my money is on Jason Craft And Rod Hood before anyone. You can bank that.

that's what i'm thinking/hoping. why have a guy limp all the way back to the locker room? put him on a cart and drive him back.

Man i was really excited about our corners this year too i thought we have potentially one of the best tandems in the league, now if this jenkins injury is serious (and we all know its going to be, just our luck) what depth do we have. None that i trust especially seeing as newman sat out with hamstring stiffness we all know its a matter of time before he goes down. i DO NOT want ball playing any kind of major role this year if at all possible other than maybe special teams. i dont care what ota reports say i dont trust him when the game is on the line.

This is not the first thread I wanted to see/read this morning.

Newman missed most of Saturday's afternoon practice as well, with what appeared to be tightness in his hamstring.

And the dc.com report says he "collapsed" and was taken off. :(

Ugh, this doesn't feel good. But maybe it's just a bad ankle sprain or something.

Jenkins Carted Off With Leg Injury

Second-year cornerback Mike Jenkins collapsed during an 11-on-11 drill during Saturday's no-pads morning practice, and was carted off the field with an apparent injury to his right leg.

Jenkins was attended to by team doctor Dan Cooper and head trainer Jim Maurer, who had to help him off the field before practice could resume. It was hard to tell specifically what Jenkins' had injured, but the attention appeared to be focused on his knee, Achilles' tendon or ankle.

Last year's 25th overall pick, Jenkins had been getting the majority of first-team snaps at right cornerback in a battle with Orlando Scandrick for the starting job opposite Terence Newman.

Newman missed most of Saturday's afternoon practice as well, with what appeared to be tightness in his hamstring.

More coming on the status of the Cowboys' cornerbacks today as we get new information.

-Josh Ellis

Jenkins and .... again.... Newman. :bang2:

ESPN will be racing to do a story on the Henry trade and how we will be rueing the day and all...

There shouldn't be much of a drop off if any from Jenkins to Scandrick. If Jenkins misses a lot of time due to this Scandrick probably takes that starting spot and never looks back

We need Jenkins and Scandrick because one of them needs to man the slot.

it's all Fedors fault, Ren. if he woulda just signed with the UFC everything would've been ok.

This is always my biggest dread in pre season.

Mike Mickens, Courtney Brown, and maybe even DeAngelo Smith just got more important. Maybe they move Ball back to CB like they did Brown.

Yeah...preseason injuries are depressing.
Here's just some of the key players already hurt around the league:

* Carolina lost stud DT Maake Kemoetu for the season--huge loss
* Eagles lost key MLB Stewart Bradley (I assume for the season)--huge loss
* Ravens lost starting OT Adam tTrry for the season
* Raven also lost WR M Calyton for a little while
* Raiders lost Khalif Barnes for the start of the season
* SF lost new WR3 Brandon Jones for 8 weeks
* Cleveland lost starting G Rex Hadnot for a long while
* Houston lost Jacques Reeves with a fractured leg for awhile

and that's just a few....lot of folks going down right now.

I just hope it's not the Achilles.

A speed position player like CB can come back from a knee, but the Achilles is a whole different ball game.

PLEASE no Achilles - please.

Something is amiss.

He's mistakenly referring to the Saturday morning practice. Newman did not miss last Saturday's practice.
