Something is amiss.
I caugh that too. Either it's a typo or dc.com is predicting the future. Let's hope for the best where Jenkins and Newman are concerned.

There shouldn't be much of a drop off if any from Jenkins to Scandrick. If Jenkins misses a lot of time due to this Scandrick probably takes that starting spot and never looks back

I agree, i didnt word it correctly but what i meant was the tandem of newman, jenkins, and scandrick. I thought those 3 were going to be very good at shutting recievers down and none would be a liability, if jenkins is out for a large amount of time now that 3rd corner is potientally a liability that qbs can target.

Jerry says it is high ankle sprain.

Mike Jenkins injured his right ankle when his leg twisted after his foot was stepped on and pinned down during team drills this morning.
The Cowboys are awaiting MRI results, but owner/general manager Jerry Jones said Jenkins could have a high ankle sprain. That injury typically sidelines a player for three to six weeks.
"I'm hoping for the best," Jones said, "but we're worried about it."
Jones said Jenkins, who was carted off the field after being helped to the sideline, was able to put some weight on that foot after practice.
Jenkins is competing with fellow second-year cornerback Orlando Scandrick for the starting job opposite Terence Newman. The Cowboys have been thrilled with the camp performances of both young corners, but depth behind them is a concern.
Jenkins also needs all the practice time he can get after an up-and-down rookie season.
"With where we are competitively, the second- and third-year guys don't need to be missing any reps, especially with the new faces," Jones said.

They just said on the lunchbreak on dc.com that they think it's a ankle sprain

The dreaded high ankle sprain. The injury you are told is never THAT serious, but for some reason lingers around for about 8-10 weeks. You almost rather he broke it.

True, but it sure beats a torn ACL or Achilles. Expect to see him in October.

one more injury in his career and fans will start calling him injury prone...

Doesn't anybody get regular ankle sprains anymore? It's always the worst case scenario with us.

This is a big blow. On a positive note though...if Gerald Sens can cover like they say he can that will help out a lot.

It just sucks though...because he is so young and we havn't even played a pre-season game yet. He needs the work..

BTW....back to Camp Cupcake Wade!!!! lol

I was about to post the exact same thing (other than breaking part).
Why do they say 3-6 weeks? it is always more than that.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I had a high ankle sprain once. I jumped over a fence only to realize it was a twenty foot drop on the other side. I suffered from the injury for almost three months.

I will just assume the worst with this. Its much better than being optimistic and then slapped in the face.

That really sux, everyone was talking about how good he's looked. Hopefully its minor and he can get bacl 100% for the start of the season. Hate to see us less than full strength with NYG coming in week two.
