OK, if you think stats truly explain football, then should we not sell the farm for Nick Foles right now?

Stats are easily manipulated to tell whatever story you want to tell.

Compared to making up a false narrative with zero support for it.

Dak led the team to 1 touchdown in 15 consecutive quarters this season. He went multiple consecutive games without scoring more than 13 points last season.

And this somehow supports your failed campaign that he's not accurate? No. Try again. Much, much, harder.

This really isn't hard unless you're a blind homer.

"Blind" is the guy starting these threads. With zero support for it whatsoever.

Dak is more football player then he is quarterback.

Agree with this. He makes plays down the stretch and makes tough plays with his feet..he’s a gamer. But I don’t think he’s accurate when it comes to the throws he needs to make downfield vs check downs. I actually think he seems more accurate rolling out vs straight pocket passer.

accuracy and completion percentage are not synonymous. Just because you have one does not necessarily mean you have the other. Accuracy is throwing it to a spot and getting to that spot, ie WR runs a slant and the ball has to be right at the 5 yard line not the 5.5 or 4.5 but at the 5, if you are accurate it is at the 5. If you throw it and it goes to the 5.5 you still get s completion but it was not accurate because the WR had to stop to catch the ball and affect the overall play.

That’s really all we need in an opinion driven forum. Is it really necessary to type IMO each time?

Regardless , I believe the evidence is there with the stats and visual we’ve seen.

Is it your argument that Dak is a prolific passer like Brady, Brees, Mahomes, Luck and Goff ?

Save the keystrokes, if you have zero support for it and all evidence points to the contrary, nobody cares what "your opinion" is.

Until you can come up with a better statistical measurement? Save it.

That’s why paying Dak elite money will kill this team. Dak needs elite players around him to make this offense go. If he has an average RB, average WRs or an average OL, this offense is doomed.

I’d let Dak play out his contract and if he takes some positive steps forward, by all means sign the guy. He’s just not worth 25 million per year right now.

We've had one of the worst passing offenses in the league for 2 1/2 years running. And I'm the stupid one?

LOL
Yes, you're absolutely stupid for believing every QB can't improve their passing. Plus, you quote Mike Leach? What has he ever won? Plus, Kellen Moore was supposedly one of the most accurate QBs ever in the history of college football. How did he turn out in the NFL? A career benchwarmer who was forced to retire before he hit the age of 29. LOL

So much for your ignorant thread. What a joke.

Stash we agree on 99.9 if things and I actually like Dak but what do you make of this though

But they're not the only ones struggling. Quarterback Dak Prescott's slide in performance has continued, as Dak has completed just 61.6 percent of his passes at only 6.7 yards per attempt, with five touchdowns and four interceptions in five games. His completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown rate, interception rate, passer rating, and QBR have all gotten worse for the second consecutive season.

The vast majority of former players and analysts side with me on this. Troy, Emmitt, Nate Newton, even the likes of Jesse Holley, go on and on about Dak's woefully limited arm talent.

Check downs on 3rd-and-9 don't impress us like it does you.

Wow, irony.

There's not a single salient point in that entire post.

I make this of it. Two words. Drew Brees.

Drew Brees, who went from a sub 60% completion quarterback in San Diego to completing nearly 75% of his passes this year. And whose completion percentages have increased again and again and again throughout his career.

The facts and statistics actually show me what's true, rather than people talking.

I'm taking the middle ground on this.
Accuracy can be improved. I was a HS pitching coach and through improved mechanics, a wild arm learns control. It's a matter of footwork and follow thru.
On the other hand completion pct doesn't necessarily translate to accuracy. A pass that a receiver has to jump or turn to catch might be caught, but because it wasn't thrown to a good location, yards after reception are lost. Dak isn't the scatter arm some think he is, but he's not as accurate as he can be. Most of his accuracy problems occur when he feels pressure. Fix his head to use proper mechanics, and he can be more accurate.

This is a horrible passing offense. Are you disputing that?

Do you really think Dak was the reason for this year's success? Remember 3-5?

The defense rose up and got this team in the playoffs. It had very little to do with Dak.
Do you realize that since we traded for Cooper Dak had the following stats:
Rating 102.5
Average YPG 275
TD 14 Int 4

Are we pretending we didnt have the absolute worst set of WR/TE's before Cooper came to town?

Which of the other QB's you mentioned had Deonte Thomas, Hurns, and a 3rd round Rookie to throw to combined with Swaim and Jarwin?

The Slobbering Dak fans are all in regardless. It’s become rather amusing. Reminds me of society. It doesn’t matter. Lol
