After another postseason flame-out, Dallas has been written off by many. Despite leading the Cowboys to three straight 12-5 records and a pair of division titles, McCarthy has caught a ton of flak thanks to the franchise's lofty expectations.

But the narrative could change quickly if McCarthy wins 12-plus games again with a weaker roster and a trio of stars (Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons) currently vying for new contracts. The people management and tactical approach needed to navigate a challenging assignment could finally lead the football world to give McCarthy his flowers as a great head coach.

MM is a mediocre coach who lucked into legendary QBs all his life. jerry and stephen saved him from high school coaching or worse, while he was eating nachos and watching film.
He has failed at dallas far. No other way to put it. He has not moved the needle. And yes, he did not pick most of the players but he allowed himself to be talked into jerry's selections and picks. The result is mediocrity. He should be fired after a 9 or 10 win upcoming season.

You realize that he became the only coach in NFL history to not make it past the divisional round after 3 consecutive 12 win seasons, don't you?

Maybe this thread went over my head I have people telling me this is not what he was hired for. Fair enough but this thread is about coach of the year? All I’m saying is a guy who wins 12 games in a season has a chance to win coach of the year. And if he gets this current team to win 12 games he will be a shoe in.
