Mike McCarthy has failed

Mike McCarthy was hired to get this franchise that has been hanging around the rim for a decade plus to finally dunk the ball in the playoffs. He has failed to keep this team motivated down the stretch of this season. He has failed to get them to stop riding the roller coaster of playing down to weaker opponents. He has failed to develop and coach the QB hard. He has failed to maintain any type of momentum heading into the playoffs. I’m very disappointed in him bc my hope was his championship pedigree would finally push this franchise over the edge. With the way this team is limping into the playoffs, it should be obvious to all what lies on the horizon.

I've seen enough. McCarthy isn't the answer. He isn't setting the culture for the team, so it's not even clear exactly what he does. Until we have someone who is the dominant figure for the franchise in the head coach role, it will be the same thing: slow starts, playing down to weak opponents, no accountability, sloppy undisciplined football Game after game. We might win some games on talent, but if anyone thinks we are winning three road playoff games in a row with this crew you are on something.

While I hear what OP is saying about getting hot in December, none of the NFC teams outside of San Fran are playing their best football right now.

We haven't failed in the playoffs because we haven't played them yet.

12, possibly 13, wins in a year is a success, no matter how unimpressed you are. Let's wait to judge the entire year until it's actually over.

This post pissed me off. Nothing against you but i'm so confused to why Mike M gets this disrespect that he gets.

I didn't want the guy. Was pissed that we got him and didn't do a "real" coaching search. Even the 2020 season this team was fighting despite Dalton and whoever else who had to play quarterback.

And maybe I come from a different era. I come from the Campo era. The Wade era. The Garrett era. So my bar is low. But back to back 12 win seasons? I don't know what this stability feels like. McCarthy has brought a standard back to this team that we haven't seen in 20+ years.

What kind of spoiled pissant complains about the OC of the league's #1 offense (over past 2 years)

One who sees that it's the talent not the OC that is doing the work. What was their ranking in 2020 without Dak for the great OC? What was their rank for the 5 games without Dak? Asking for a friend..

Your refusal to acknowledge that it's the talented players making Moore look good rather than the other way around is on you.

Good lord, Skippy is acting like the Cowboys lost. He is blaming MM saying the Tennessee coach is much better. Do the talking heads realize there is no pressure on Tennessee for anything. They lost to the 7th seed at home as the number 1 seed and no talking head cares. The Cowboys lose to probably the best team in the NFC last year everyone needs to be fired.:rolleyes:

Mike has made us perennial playoff contenders which hasnt been done since Parcells set us up over 15 years ago

He did it this year with losing his QB for 5 games and a bevy of injuries to other key players.

After the offseason we had, going into this season, a huge portion of this fanbase thought this was a throwaway year and that Jerry was gearing up for SP next year.

Mike has his faults as I dont like how “soft” hes been in regards to our practices, but to say hes failed is too harsh

I'm good with McCarthy. He has accomplished team milestones that have not been seen in nearly 3 decades. Imagine if they hired Rhule or Meyer.

Yep...we got us a record. Yep we're going to the playoffs. All well and good.

But I have to disagree, mildly...that "hey a win is a win".

ANd I know I know..."any given Sunday". And "this is their super bowl".

Blah blah blah

Those wins over some bad teams....we had to fight and claw and "win ugly".

The win over Eagles was a good hard fought game. But we do make it hard on ourselves with some bone-head mistakes.

I agree with your analogy. We do make jump shots, layups, foul shots...all the dirty work. But rarely the golden slam dunk. The SMASHED THEM TO H7LL! ....That really makes you put your fist in the air.

I'm not complaining, glad for the wins. Now is the time for the slam dunk, if we have it in us.

ANd hey...if we do "win ugly" the rest of the way....I'll be totally elated!
