Mike McCarthy should have been calling plays

MM should have been calling plays since day one. KM was Dak's backup...I don't think he had the stones to get in Dak's face and tell him to stick to the script. MM is under the gun now.....that's a good thing for us.
So you want MM who can't even manage the clock to call the plays...LOL..I'm all in on that..

You dont come into a new job as the boss and make changes right away you evaluate and see whats going on then you change as needed
Wrong. His job is to put the pieces into place to win. Obviously, he didn’t do that.

The guy that won a SB? Yeah, I'm good with that!
McCarthy has largely built a coaching legacy on the coattails of two hall-of-fame quarterbacks. We have all seen what happens when Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre isn’t there to cover up his deficiencies.

Let's see if Dak can make the proper reads....

Kellen Moore replied to mike, “It was really fun just to go through the process of merging worlds. I think that was such a fun process,” Moore said, via ESPN.com. “There are just so many little things as you go through game plans and gamedays as you’re calling the game, just being able to have those conversations about different ways you can go, different paths you can take, he was really a great sounding board for me.”

Good guy who doesn't have to throw someone under a bus to feel good about himself.

Yes he should have been calling the plays. Not only to keep Dak "on script", but Kellen Moore isn't a bright offensive coordinator. He had zero in-game, situational awareness and a boring, predictable offense design.

I think MM shpuld have had more influence to help KM but kellen is better than mike ever was. Mike sucks and is only thought of as a good coach because he had 2 HOF QB's make him look good.

If fans that don't know crap wouldn't complain.....KM would still be here. You did you're job! Lol!!!
So it's the fans fault that Moore failed to make proper in game situational adjustments, he designed Nintendo football style plays that's predictable as the sun coming up tomorrow and that he was too dumb to stick with the running game when it was clicking???

Ok.... gotcha.

Maybe pacing was an issue on offense, if anything. Instead of scoring 40 points and holding the ball for 30 minutes McCarthy wants to score 30 and hold the ball for 40 minutes. Dak seemed to do better in the hurry up, though, so it's hard to blame Moore for that.
The 2nd one will win you more games.

Winning games, especially in the playoff, is not about seeing how many points you can score. There is quite simply a ton more to it than that. ATL beats NE in the super bowl if they slow down and do some ball control O after the half. Taking 7 seven step drops and throwing continuously downfield w/ a 3 score lead is just asking to lose the game.

My speculation was the Jerry thought KM was the next boy wonder genius HC in waiting and KM being the OC was a condition on Mac getting the HC gig.
Pretty sure that's how it went.

Man, I absolutely love it that MM keeps his own counsel. You never heard a word from him during the clusterF years.

Dallas was #4 in the NFL last season in points per game. So yes, it can certainly get worse. A lot worse.

KM is highly regarded throughout the league. He was considered for several head coaching jobs, and got hired immediately after leaving Dallas. Teams around the league think more highly of him than many of the posters in the forum.

I don't the KM was the problem, or was holding this team back last season. A year from now we'll know, and it won't be a subject for debate any longer.
Absolutely true.

Points per game is not an accurate measurement of your O, not as a standalone stat. Fewer points but more longer drives would equal more wins.

Most head coaches hire their own OC. They don't inherit the one from the previous HC, but Kellen was Jerry's latest Chosen One at the time. He came with the house.

Agreed, Coach. Plus, Kellen Moore sucked at creating better passing route plays, better schemes or be able to get much lesser talented WRs to be able to get open. His playcalling was suspect as well.

Not if you run better schemes that get your receivers open often, plus a better Oline that consistently gives you the time to pass or run the football at will. We had neither.

is Mike going to slap daks helmet when he changes the plays to a pass out of the run, or from a run out of a pass?
