MM should have been calling plays since day one. KM was Dak's backup...I don't think he had the stones to get in Dak's face and tell him to stick to the script. MM is under the gun now.....that's a good thing for us.

Based on MM’s comments our offense would have been worse. We were 6th in the nfl in run plays and 19th in pass plays.

He would have ran more with zeke, thus slowing down our offense even more and putting us in more 3rd and longs.

Jerry has always wanted his head coach to call plays. That’s was the downfall of Wade Phillips. Let’s see what MM can do without Kellen Moore. Why did Moore leave for the Chargers with no upgrade in title again? Normally the OC or DC leave because they get a head coaching offer. It’s kind of weird he jumped ship for the same type of job.

I think MM had an idea before he accepted the job. But he also wanted to see how it went. As he said he was not familiar with it or the terminology. But he did not want to change it, and said he would learn it. As changing it up would not have been good at the time.

I think after his 2nd year he knew a change was needed. As Dak was injured most of the year with a broken ankle, so hard to evaluate the offense. But it took the 3rd year to convince Jerry (KM being his next 10 year coach in training) to go a different direction. And as he was also more familiar with the overall schemes and terminology. So he now knows what needs to change.

I guarantee Dak won't change to a pass play on 2nd and 1 or goal from 2 yards out when our backs are averaging 5, 6 yards a run during the game. KM was the only one dumb enough to do stupid **** like that.

At the end of the day MM is the head coach and he should have started calling offensive plays if he was dissatisfied with KM’s game calling. To be fair to KM I wonder how much latitude Dak had to change plays; maybe Dak was changing into the wrong plays at times.
At any rate, I think this change was mandated by Jerry; I don’t know that MM has the stones to challenge Jerry.
