One of the top priorities for a head coach is game clock and time management.

And McCarthy continues to stink at it.

How many times does he get to bungle it before he gets held accountable?

He robbed Aubrey of his chance to make NFL history with the 66 yarder.
We had 2 timeouts, and a delay of game was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!

This will bite us again in the future like it has in the past.

False

Then there was the Browns making that first down near their goal line and the Cowboys put their offensive unit on the field. It was as if McCarthy wasn't paying attention to the refs or the game sometimes. The refs clearly signaled first down and that was the time to challenge. He didn't. What had him so distracted that he lost track of downs and the play clock?

He called a fantastic first half. The second half was too conservative but still helped win the game.

Acts dumb in weird situations. I don't know what is wrong with him. Called a masterpiece in the first half for the most part then from the time of the Aubrey incident to the end of the game, acted like he had no idea what was going on. ADD head coach if I've ever seen one. Annoying.

He knew the game was won so he let Jerry Jones' grandson call the game from the booth in the 2nd half

Hahaha! IKR? Wandered around saying "good job" the rest of the time to everyone. We're being silly but it almost seems legit.

No. Watch the replay.

Clock did not reset -- Mc and Fassel were both on the refs. There were many instances today of clocks and downs being messed up. Pay attention to things that do not fit your agenda.

Try again.

Even if it didn’t reset…..they should ALWAYS be paying attention to it and call time out if needed. Or they should have alerted the refs ahead of time to reset it.

Instead…..they were completely oblivious to the situation until the flag was thrown.

Just because the clock did not reset doesn’t give him a pass. There’s a giant freaking clock in the stadium. If there was a problem with the play clock he should have been *****ing before.

When he sees the play clock winding down, call timeout and then complain.

In close and late or end of half situations, it is important.

It is one of the few things that are actually in any way important that we have a good amount of knowledge about and it can be gamed out.

That doesn't make it important.

I think that guys like Mike Tirico make a big deal about it makes it appear more important than it is.

So your answer is that we lose a timeout because the refs screwed up and didn't fix it when it was pointed out far before the snap?

In gaming this out what was the negative outcome that we suffered from this, btw?

I'll enjoy the win rather than harping on what went wrong. But you're right McCarthy has to be better in those situations and get the time out in.

I think you are mistaking a process that involves several people for the actions of one man. I get the responsibility angle as he is responsible for his team but it looks more like a communication issue than what you describe.
